Why is my coworker lowkey a b! tch to me or does she just envy me?

I just got a new job at a clothing store and it’s like my first job lmao obviously when your new you get introduced to everyone at the job everyone I met was cool until I met this one girl who seemed lowkey cocky she was in the break room eating and I walked in to go to my locker and get my stuff out and she asked me “why do you still wear a mask” mind you there was other people also wearing mask there I just said I don't know im just use to it after that a few days go by and im back at work I finished cleaning my section and i grabbed a few things I wanted to buy before clocking out I make my way to the register and another person rings me up but that girl is right next to her and then she ask me if I know my discount number I tell her “no I don’t think the manager gave it to me” and she says “girl stop lying yes you did” like bruh who was even talking to you , your literally in another register , another time i decided to go out to eat during my break because it’s like a mall and when I’m done eating I make my way back to the store and she’s walking the other direction from me and she’s says “you on your break too?” I reply with a mumbled “yea” because I was really tired that day. Later that day we both were working near each other and she says “did you ignore me?” And i say “no” and she says “ I was about to say did this bitch ignore me?” And i just laugh it off but inside im just like wtf maybe I’m just sensitive but she’s too much lol or maybe it’s her personality.

She's very insecure and there's something about you that amplifies that feeling. So she attacks you trying to drive you away. Limit your interactions with her. Be polite but assertive.

your right and its like I’m a very nice person and bearly speak so for her to act like that is just sad it just shows how people envy you even when you keep to yourself and just exist

I'm guessing that you appear to be more competent than she is, and likely the rest you co-workers as well. She perceives you as threat -- if you are more productive she fears that you will bring scrutiny on her own performance. If she's snarky, brush it off. Her goal is to provoke you. Do not give her the satisfaction.
