Is it unwise to treat everyone as family/ friends?

My supervisor says that I treat everyone as a friend/ family…is that wrong.

Yes, because those people don't care about you. They screw you over when you served your purpose and then discard you.

Cooperate loyalty is dead. You go to work and you don't tell anyone your business. You say nothing about your family and nothing personal. They'll ask you to help them get a promotion and once they got it they screw you over.

It's a really bad idea people are very deceptive on the job. They will take the food out of your mouth and the roof of your head and take an unfair amount away from you.

Never do extra work or go out of your way. Always do the bare minimum and go home and collect your paycheck. If you start doing extra people are going to think you are trying to make yourself look good and everyone else look bad.

Then they start gossiping about you and look for ways to get you fired.
