When a woman friend zones a guy, it typically means that she has decided that she is not interested in pursuing a romantic or sexual relationship with him. This can be for a variety of reasons, such as lack of attraction, incompatible values or lifestyles, or simply not feeling a romantic connection.
Ghosting, on the other hand, refers to the act of suddenly and without explanation cutting off communication with someone, often in the context of a romantic or sexual relationship. While ghosting is generally considered to be rude and disrespectful, some people may choose to do it as a way of avoiding confrontation or uncomfortable conversations.
If a woman friend zones a guy and then ghosts him, it can be hurtful and confusing for the guy, as he may be left wondering what went wrong or what he did to deserve the sudden silence. However, it's important to remember that everyone has the right to set their own boundaries and make their own decisions about who they want to pursue relationships with. While ghosting is not a respectful way to handle the situation, the woman may have felt that it was the best way to communicate her lack of interest.

I agree with Jason, and I’d like to add this:
A lot of guys do not handle rejection well, and will even ignore the woman’s wishes and continue trying to push a relationship or being overly flirtatious and sexual. After a lot of experiences like this, many women will block the man immediately just so that they don’t have to deal with the risks and safety hazards, or the harassment.
As well, once the guy admits his feelings, the woman is now in an awkward spot, and even if they choose to remain friends, there will always be that uncomfortableness, and that danger. At that point, it’s better for both parties to separate so that they can find other people. Keeping in contact won’t help either person in moving forward.
To add to that, handling rejection well will actually make some women change their minds. I've had it happen to me twice. They said no, I smiled and said ok, and left them alone. Within a few days they came back and changed their minds lol. I don't know why exactly, but I have a feeling it's because my value somehow went up in their minds when they realized I didn't care
It’s not that your value went up “because you didn’t care,” it’s because you showed that you are rational and willing to treat them as equal human beings and respect their boundaries, not just as property to be bought or bargained for. You demonstrated that you are safe to be around.

Yeah, I guess that's a better way of putting it lol.
"Don't care" was a poor choice of words
