What are some reasons why a guy might ghost a woman?

I've been on 2 first dates. They weren't perfect but they weren't awful either. On date 1 the guy walked me to my car and carried my food for me, hugged me, and later texted how amazing of a woman I was. I reciprocated that I thought he was awesome, too. Later, he stopped texting frequently and then blocked me on the dating site. I saw him again on the same site some months later. I assume he created a new profile and same pictures as to why I could see him again. But, I just swipe left.

The 2nd guy was a gentleman, too. Except asking me back to his place too soon which I turned down. He asked for a 2nd date but nothing came of it. I just moved on as I never heard from him again.

All of this has made me wonder what reasons do guys have for ghosting women after expressing interest? Or, women ghosting men?

Dating apps are so hit or Miss, mostly miss. It seems as though a lot of guys on there are rarely looking for a genuine connection, plus with new women joining every day, they have the opportunity to be very picky and constantly swiping. It’s possible that these guys you meet did have interest in you, but still opted to use the apps, found someone else to pursue and went after them. It really has to suck.

-they find someone new that they liked better and are now talking to that person 99% of the time.
-the other 1% is that they might actually be busy.
