My girlfriend stopped talking to me over nothing?

We been together for 3 years and last night was a complete mess. I posted an inspirational quote that I remixed off of Google & my girlfriend got mad because she thought I was trying to throw shade at her. She told me that she’s going to stop talking to me altogether over it. She unfollowed me and kept ignoring my text messages when I kept telling her it wasn’t about her.

Because in the early days of our relationship, when I was immature af, I used to post different things related to whatever argument we had as a way to get her attention when she stopped responding to me. But we talked about it before and I cut out that behavior 2 years ago & became more communicative towards her about things.

I have no idea what exactly I’m “throwing shade” about when everything been good between us. I have whole proof to show it was quotes from Google & it wasn’t anything directed to her. But it’s the fact she won’t respond to me at all. I’m surprised she didn’t block me even though she doesn’t want to talk to me no more.

What should I do?

Wow. First I wanna say it's great that you acknowledged how you used to do that in the early days of your relationship but you grew out of it and learned to be more mature. So by now at 3 years she should know that's not what you were doing.

I don't think you did anything wrong, but her jumping the gun like that kinda says she must be guilty of something to react that way, and then to go as far as unadding you and ignoring all your texts. I don't know what your quote was, or what she ever did, but something is going on with her there. Something in the quote you posted showed her something she feels guilty about for why she thinks you're throwing shade at her.

Hm. Innocent enough quote. Yeah, like I said, I think it made her feel guilty about something she knows she did. Someone who is NOT guilty would not react the way that she has towards you about that. At this point if I were you, I would ask myself if I would want to continue on with her.

We must, must, MUST remember: someone who truly loves and cares about you is not going to treat you like that. We will all have disagreements in a relationship or even be annoyed with the other person, but it should never go as far as basically cutting you off over something like a quote.

well its bad if she doesn't want to talk to you to resolve it but if the past was like that it couldve been traumatic for her and that quote triggered it, so you may give her some time to calm down. you may just tell her that you are here for her whenever she wants to talk
