I am a 20 year old girl and I have a really amazing male best friend. We are in the same club in my university. We are really good friends and very frank with each other. We have known each other for about two years now. We share everything with each other. And we also talk to each other every day by chat. But since the past few weeks, he has been so distant
I don't know if this is relevant, but a year ago, I started to realize that I like him more than a friend and fell hard for him. But I realized soon after that he has a girlfriend and he eventually told me all about it so I hid my feelings because I wanted to stay at least friends with him and was scared that if he found out, it would ruin our friendship. As time passed by, I got to know him even better and at some point , was sure that he is mature enough to not let the fact that I like him ruin our close friendship. One time, about half a year ago while we were chatting , we were just talking randomly and the conversation led to 'liking someone' and he found out that I like someone. He playfully kept telling me to tell him who it is and when that failed, he started guessing and eventually found out it was him. He told me he was flattered and reassured me that it will not affect our friendship and we decided to stay normal. Things were a bit awkward at first but we were normal in no time! We became even better friends, in fact. And I think he eventually even forgot that I like him.
I really don't understand what happened. I don't think I said anything to upset him and it's not like he is busy because he is regularly active on Facebook. I can't think of a reason why he would suddenly start avoiding me. I tried asking him if something is up but he said it was nothing. I tried talking to him a couple time over the past few weeks but he just didn't seem like he wanted to talk so I stopped. We used to talk every day and now it's been over a week since we said even a word to each other!
