Good or bad idea to give boyfriend photos of engagement rings styles I like?

My boyfriend doesn’t get hints and likes me to tell him what I like when it comes to gifts etc. Sometimes he will buy me lovely things without me telling him or giving him hints but I’m wondering is it a good or bad idea to give my boyfriend photos of the style of engagement rings I like? It’s such a special piece of jewellery and I want it to be right but I don’t know if it’s right to show him exactly what styles I like?

is there a way you could do it in a subtle way? like leaving it in your browser history or lingering around them at the store? maybe so it’s not so direct. or you could be upfront and you could go shopping for it together and make it a romantic thing
