Long story short, I bought land with my own money and he land is under my name. However, my parents have invested some money with renovations. When the land was bought it was agreed that it would be my safe place away from all drama and negativity…I do not get along with my older siblings. In that land I have my farm animals that I love with all my heart. Time and time again my parents have taken random people to that land to show it off and those people have taken pictures and posted them online. Most recently, my brother’s wife posted pictures and videos. My brother’s wife does not like me at all…we’ve argued a lot in the past. I’ve had no contact with her or my brother for over 6 years and within that time she has talked negatively about me and my family on her social media. Which is why it bothered me that my parents would allow her in my property near my animals.

which has made me think if whether or not I should just sell my livestock. It makes me uncomfortable know that random people that don’t like me go into my property and take pictures of my belongings. I would rather the land be empty so there’s nothing there when my parents take random people there…what would they show off if all of the good stuff is gone.

Tell your parents it is your land and they need to stop taking people there as those people are invading your privacy. Or you could maybe sell the land and buy another piece of land and move your animals there and dont tell your parents where it is.

I was thinking about that too.. just buying more land but keep it a secret from my parents and just relocate my animals there. It’s weird to me how my own parents would bring people that have hurt me into my property and allow them to take pictures. Especially my brother’s wife…it’s weird, like she doesn’t like me but she posts my property on her social media? That’s crazy to me.

Some people including our own parents don't give a damn. I pay the entire rent and bills so that my dad doesn't have to pay a cent and it was me who helped to put the roof over our heads and my dad despite knowing my sisters and I do not get along and I have made it known I don't want them near here at the house, he instead allowed them to come to the house against my wishes
I blew up at my dad and told him, he is paying rent and bills now since he won't respect my wishes.

That’s sounds way too familiar…I’d go as far as to say that I relate to that and completely understand where you’re coming from. Can’t over backwards trying to make someone’s life easier just for that same person to go and take part in something they know will hurt you. We can’t change them but we can definitely change the way we go about things when it comes to dealing with them.

Instead of getting rid of your beloved animals, let your parents know that you’re not comfortable with them bringing people there.

Uff I’ve done it plenty of times and they don’t care to listen. Earlier today I had a full blown argument with my mom because of it. All she had to say was…try to understand me. There’s nothing to understand, as a daughter to her and my dad I don’t see why they continue to bring people that don’t like me into my safe place. It’s heartbreaking for me.

As someone mentioned below, maybe you could try moving the animals to somewhere else that’s truly private and keep it a secret.

Yes, it’s a very bad idea. I feel like you would regret it. And it’s not reversible. You’d never see them again and probably wouldn’t even know where they were. I’m sure you’d miss them terribly.

No way , the animals and land are your love , buggar them , just speak frankly with your parents that you don't want anyone taken there without your approval , its your land , I can feel the love you have..

Strangers can walk by and take pictures. They are animals, outside, where they can be easily observed. Sucks your family doesn't respect your wishes (since I assume you told them no guests), but why get rid of the animals?

Yeah, strangers Can indies pass by and take pictures but those strangers didn’t ruin my childhood. The same people that ruined me are now being invited into my property and they’re posting pictures of what I considered my safe place. I purposely bought lane up in the mountains far away from the city so I could escape the drama but despite my efforts my parents have taken every single person I’ve ever argued with there behind my back. I know they’re not going to stop either so I rather empty everything out so nothing is there when they go,

Then have them trespassed (formally) and if they go back they get arrested. F that noise. Nobody is kicking me off MY property. Don't let this trash bully you.

I absolutely agree with you. Part of me doesn’t want to let them have their way.

Half my family was trash like that. I get the desire to just cut it all and walk away from it, but they'll just keep on doing it and they'll find you eventually. Better to just go ahead and have that fight now (with trespass orders in tow) than always wonder down the road if today is the day they find your NEXT place, and then you just have to move again.

I guess I would make all financials equal and then impose some rules. Our parents sometimes have boundary issues. Had to have a few convos with mine.
