+1 yOpposites attract. I personally am not a very social woman. Social environments have been known to put me on edge and give me some anxiety. My husband is 100% the opposite. He is so social and loveable. He makes friends everywhere he goes and I absolutely love it. So he actually opens doors for me to be social, if that makes sense. Because most of my social withdraw is literally just due to anxiety. Having him beside me takes the pressure off of me in so many ways but it also comes down to trust as well. My husband knows how to read me. He knows when I'm uncomfortable and he knows what to do to include me and take me out of my anxiety and panic surrounding issues in social environments, which goes a long way.
He understands that my social withdraw does actually cause me some spurts of depression so he pushes me to be social, while gladly taking his arm and letting him lead me to it. It's all about trust.

So let me ask you a question, do you have female friends that are just as social as your husband, and they are married to socially awkward men? Cause if you don't you just defeated your whole argument.
One thing I've seen in life is that guy don't have the Luxury of being non social and still ending up in relationships, just because you seen girls do it doesn't mean that it's the same for guys. - +1 y
I do have female friends who are married to socially awkward men, yes. One of my best friends actually. Her husband (whom I was friends with long before I met her) is just as socially awkward as I am. Anything social gives him panic attacks. His wife Maria is the complete opposite. Her entire summer is planned around social events that he has to go to as a plus 1. She brings him out of his shell, just as my husband brings me out of mine.
You do realize that your defensiveness is coming strictly from a view point of personal experience, correct? You're coming off as hostile when you're the one who asked the question. I don't see why you are trying to create arguments and tell people they are wrong, when this is all situation based. Don't ask a question that you don't want the answer to. - +1 y
There was no argument, is the whole point. You asked a question, I answered and you responded with "Cause if you don't, you just defeated your whole argument". What argument? You're arguing with yourself against someone else's personal experience. There was no where to apply "logic", considering your question was pretty cut and dry and didn't go in to a detail about what your experience was. You just jumped right in applying I was wrong.

I think if men pay for courses on how to pick up women, it would be obvious that they would struggle to get together with the opposite sex, and if there are girls like yourself who aren't social but don't have to pay someone to teach them how to talk to girls. Wouldn't it be obvious that it's not the same between men and women and the term "opposite attract" doesn't apply to shy men

+1 yOpposites attract and balance each other out. I would want a guy who is way more social than me to help bring me out and I do have such guy whose slowly but surely helping me get out of my shell as I help him to be more homebody because he goes out quite a lot with friends.

I don't know why girls think opposite attract, even girls that are social choose guys that are more social than them.
If you don't believe that's true, how would an extroverted girl who doesn't approach men find a shy guy?
The whole opposites attract thing is just a buzzword that we say, but we don't really analyze to see if it's actually true for real life. - +1 y
It does sometimes. It may not be all the time but opposites do attract sometimes. It did for me. And I've seen other couples who are complete opposites be together. So it is a real thing.

Did you notice how you avoided my question about how an extroverted woman would meet an introverted guy if she wants guys to approach her.
I'm not saying you're wrong but the fact that you didn't answer my question is probably your unwillingness to admit that you're wrong when it comes to most extroverted women. - +1 y

That the exception of the rules, we know that most jobs men and women don't work together. I gave an example of an extroverted girl, she works with all women and is looking for a man, she only wants guys who are confident enough to ask her out, How is this an example of opposite attract if she is setting herself up for being with an extrovert guy?

That's the definition of entitlement.
I just noticed that like as a guy if I was antisocial I wouldn't say that I need a girl to be more social so that I can feel comfortable talking. But that's because I inherently know that I don't want a woman to lead my life.
Woman would get what they want if they were a little bit more humble and acted like they needed men for certain things. - +1 y
I don't think it's an introvert/ extrovert thing. Even the girls that are extroverted one extroverted guys but think about it. An extroverted girl can't even get in contact with an introverted guy. That's something only girls will coach guys do in most girls don't approach guys.
And like I said, there's nothing wrong with being shy but it would be weird to be shy but also demand guys be more confident. Which is what I hear a lot of girls say.
I don't think I've ever seen a girl work on her confidence, especially when it comes to the opposite sex. So it's just hypocritical that they demand that guys be confident. - +1 y
Well I guess life is unfair but I guess it would be hard for girls to understand. But I can give you a glimpse.
So try to imagine You're a guy and you're finding out that girl struggle to make eye contact with you. Even say something witty or start a conversation. So you realize that you're the one that's going to have to develop a personality that girls like. So you do that so you can talk to girls. But then you realize there's no reason to stay because they don't have a personality. They just want somebody with a personality.
And I think that's why a lot of girls are confused about why they get pumped and dumped and why a lot of men don't want to commit to them. Guys don't want to say that there's really nothing special about a girl who just lives for her man and doesn't have a personality her owned

That's why people say opposites attract. I personally could not date anyone who was the opposite of me.

Confused with what?
- +1 y
I said "that's why people say opposites attract" I didn't say I'm attracted to what's opposite of me. I'm giving you a general opinion which was the first comment. I never said that's what I live by.

I already said I couldn't date anyone who is the opposite of me.
