I am in a friendship group with two girls. The other day we all arranged to hang out and go for birthday drinks together for my birthday. Both the girls met up without me before we met for drinks. Then when I arrived they got me a happy birthday card that they both signed literally 10 minutes before we met up. One of the girls kept complaining about being there saying ‘I can’t believe I’ve got to be here I’m so tired but I showed up for your birthday anyway’. She left after an hour
The other girl stayed longer but literally abandoned me at a bar for no reason. I had a few drinks and was feeling vulnerable so she asked me loads of questions about my family life, my relationship with my boyfriend and asked if I felt jealous that my younger sister had moved out with her boyfriend. I opened up to her and told her lots of private things and then mid way through she just got up and left, and ran off. I felt so vulnerable and started to cry because I felt humiliated being left on my own in a bad when I’d opened up about my problems to my friend.
Are these real friends or frenemies?
