Am I a girly girl?

I heard someone describe a girly girl as someone the at wears makeup and always dressed to the nines. That’s not my idea of a girly girl. I grew up girly girl but over time I am way less interested in having a perfect clothing outfit or look and hair and possessions. I think I’ve grown up and out of that. I see a lot of women (even who were tomboys growing up) as adults are into looking dressed to the nines and wearing makeup and having perfect hair. I think that’s a regression personally.

I only consider my self girly girl now because I do dress feminine (I wear only skirts and dresses and like long hair) and because of my personality that has been with me since growing up, when I was more outwardly girly girl. I’m very mannered and dainty and sweet and trusting and gentle.

Not sure how to respond to this. You can consider yourself whatever you want to be. You can also have whatever definition you want of what a girly girl means to you. Some other people might define it differently than you and not consider you one. What does it matter? It's however you perceive yourself that does. I personally don't think I'm a girly girl. I grew up closer to my dad and did lots of things the boys enjoyed doing. However most that meet me take one look and think I'm a girly girl. Looks can be deceiving.

Yep that’s why I hesitate to identify as a girly girl because I still have girly interests, I’ll never be into sports/gaming/whatever guys are into lol. But I just don’t have that interest in dressing like I’m competing in a. Fashion show anymore. I don’t value that anymore. But a lot of people only look at the fashion aspect and think “oh that’s a girly girl (or not)”. I know a girl who usually dresses up but she grew up tomboy and she gets on with guys well and she goes to the gym and stuff. It’s not like one’s inner personality or interests change that much from when we were little.

What you’re describing sounds just that you’re very feminine. Girly girl is a very broad term, can be used as a compliment and an insult and is frankly quite childish to define an adult. Girly girl is something a boy from elementary school would call a girl because she doesn’t want to play in the dirt with him, lol.
Being feminine is a woman’s term. Girly girl is a word used to describe just as it implies, a “girl”

Ok good because if it came down to that I think I’m one of the girliest girls around because I am very delicate and dainty with how I move in a lot of ways. But I’m not wearing flashy hot pink clothes or whatnot. I try to dress very very modestly.
