I'm so nervous I'm getting braces on my teeth tomorrow, any suggestions?

Here are a few suggestions for dealing with getting braces tomorrow:

- Don't stress too much about it luv, braces aren't that bad. Yeah they'll feel weird at first but you'll get used to em quick.

- Ask your orthodontist what you can take for pain if your mouth is sore afterwards. Maybe some Tylenol or ibuprofen to get ahead of any aches.

- Stock up on soft foods you like - pudding, yogurt, mashed potatoes. The first few days you won't wanna chew on anything too crunchy or hard.

- Bring some headphones and a charger with you when you go - appointments can take a while and it's nice having tunes to listen to to pass the time.

- Take a selfie before they put em on so you can compare later and see your progress! Braces fly by quicker than you think.

- Your smile will still look good and look beautiful, I promise. And afterwards your grin is gonna be even better and straighter.

- Don't be afraid to ask the orthodontist any questions you think of too. They want you to feel comfortable.

You'll be all set! Braces aren't that bad and it'll be worth it for your confidence. You got this mama! Just be calm

I'd say "have one last piece of gum while you still can", but I think modern braces are a lot gentler on that (then again, they may have been back when I had mine; it's not like I ever tried to break that rule).

If there's anything tough to chew (like steak or something), now's the time; braces only hurt in the day or two after they get tightened, but they DO hurt on those days. Not tremendously, but you feel it- and chewing SUCKS. Soup is a good choice at those times; if you've been looking for an excuse to try new ones, you have it. Applesauce, too. Come to think of it, sherbet (rainbow or otherwise) would probably also be nice (it's very good after you've had your gall bladder out).

I'd add "if their positioning allows, practice shooting the nigh-invisible rubber bands at people you don't like", but that's less likely to be an issue at your age than it was when I was a teenager.

I had them years ago. I remember being in pain the night I had them put in. My mom gave me Tylenol and sent me to bed. After that, everything was fine. 😊

Yeah, when they take them off and give you your "appliance" (retainer), wear it! I didn't take mine seriously enough and my teeth shifted a bit.

That's what happened to me. I had them at 14 and I failed to wear the retainer now here I am at 36 making another attempt.

Eat Spaghetti and try to remember the feeling before you will hate it with braces.

I don't know if they give you wax but ask for it if not. You can put it on the bracers as they may wound your mouth a little bit when new until you get used to it

Get wax and put wax over them it’s gonna tear your mouth up for the first few weeks I had them for 3 years

Dont be nervous its a great thing to do. U won't look that great for 2 years and cleaning ur teeth will suck. Its an expensive procedure too. But other than that its not painful or risky
