if i remember correctly i had fixed metal braces as teenager for roughly 2 years and before and after that a temporary over night braces, for 4 years as well. (two before and two after the permanent metal ones)

And it was free, covered by universal health care in germany. But it would have costs some thousand euros. A friend of mine has gotten temporary braces and it cost her ~2500€.

The length of time depends on how easily your teeth move. Some people have braces for a year and some for many years. The cost is upwards of $5000. Orthodontists will give you a payment plan. You can call around and get a free consultation. Most importantly is finding an Orthodontist that is highly recommended.

Probably 2 years for you. I feel like they would need to extend your palate first as it doesn't look wide enough.
