the world of bars can be so cruel , one day your the hot spot, the next no one even wants to show up at your place and its empty.
so why exactly would someone want to manage a restaurant / bar that was obviously failing and that seemed doomed without major changes/revamp.
the stuff this person has posted to social media is just sad , a couple weeks ago on Friday they posted a picture of a hot dog with soup as the special of the day , seriously hot dog and soup never heard of that being a thing. they didn't even have anything planned for Halloween weekend at all. like why do they even want the job , they suck at it so badly the place is going nowhere , even if its just about the money you think they'd be smart enough to realise its not going to make big money at this rate. they can even schedule live music , hasn't had any in months other than 1 weekend , is it that hard to book someone to come in for a couple hours

Because it’s an opportunity to improve and make it better. If the place keeps failing the manager isn’t blamed. It’s a win/win
but it was better back before they became the manager , like before covid that place was always busy , younger people always went there on Friday nights , the place had live music every weekend
during her time as manager would struggle to list anything she's done which has improved the business , she's driving it into the ground. they don't even have a trivia night there despite like every other pub having one
It’s she’s responsible for the failure, then it’s a bad owner that hasn’t fired her yet
to be honest not entirely sure what went wrong but as the manager she has to be responsible for what goes on there. i recall an odd comment by her last Christmas one night when it wasn't that busy but used to always be busy , she was like the 19 year old don't come here anymore or something ( 19 is the legal drinking age here and so she was referring to the younger crowd not coming out that night , unlike past years when it normally be packed same night of the year) but as manager shouldn't she be trying to figure out why they didn't decide to come out to the pub when other years they always did? and figuring out a way to bring them back in
kind of bizarre that she's just write off one of the main target markets and seemingly just move on and not care. if the younger people don't get in the habit of coming out to the pub who is going to be there in a couple years? seems like it will be even more empty on Friday night
Gotcha. FYI you may get more answers if you are not anon
but also want to be able to go after her freely , so being anon allows for that too , she's doing such an awful job i can't understand why she would even decide to stay long term , like where does she see this going? they didn't even do a Halloween party , she only posts pictures of food to social media , its going no where fast
So the whole point of the question wasn’t to ask why. It was to vent about someone you didn’t approve of.
one also does have to wonder about the owner? i've never really seen him there at night when this stuff going on and place half empty , she doesn't seem at all involved with the social media pages. i've only seen him there drinking with friends a couple times trying to be the man. does he even realise his bar is failing or is he too drunk
no trying to figure out why she wants to manage this place when all her ideas suck and its going nowhere fast? i guess its just about the money to her , but place isn't even making much some nights. she's never once asked me for advice despite the fact i've been going there for years and very active in bar scene , apparently i know nothing , a picture of a hot dog and soup is going to pack the place on Friday night
i also think everyone who works there is too scared to say anything about her or there concerns about the state of the business. they don't want to lose shifts or get in her bad books , she is so awful she even fired a server cause she went off to college for dental hygene and refused to give her any shifts during the summer when she was back home cause she couldn't commit to full time hours cause she still in school during the week. i mean seriously punishing an employee for going away to college and not being available all week
