Why would someone want to manage a restaurant/bar that was obviously failing?

the world of bars can be so cruel , one day your the hot spot, the next no one even wants to show up at your place and its empty.

so why exactly would someone want to manage a restaurant / bar that was obviously failing and that seemed doomed without major changes/revamp.

the stuff this person has posted to social media is just sad , a couple weeks ago on Friday they posted a picture of a hot dog with soup as the special of the day , seriously hot dog and soup never heard of that being a thing. they didn't even have anything planned for Halloween weekend at all. like why do they even want the job , they suck at it so badly the place is going nowhere , even if its just about the money you think they'd be smart enough to realise its not going to make big money at this rate. they can even schedule live music , hasn't had any in months other than 1 weekend , is it that hard to book someone to come in for a couple hours

just noticed there is a new bar going in across the street , sign just went up and it won't be open until spring 2024 but owner must be pissed , think shit is going to hit the fan soon , he'll be forced to do something sooner rather than later

just found her page on linkenin says she took advertising/marketing at college but doesn't list any other experience at bars/restaurants. sounds like she wanted a job in advertsing/marketing but somehow got stuck managing a pub , no wonder she is so lost based on her resume she clearly doesn't have any experience in the bar industry , one of those hot shots who thinks she learned it all at college but failing in real life
