Why did this girl unfollow me and remove me as a follower?

yesterday i posted something (it was a selfie) and this girl liked my picture and even commented “😍😍” on my picture and liked my story. i don’t spam on my story or post too much— actually i barely post lol, i’d say i post one time every two months. and i post one or two stories every week (maximum). i even commented on her last pic “ur so pretty”, and i don’t post political content or anything that could trigger her. today i checked and she removed me as a follower, and unfollowed me (she didn’t block me). i do certainly follow political accounts and stuff like that but i never make public my opinion on absolutely nothing about politics or something controversial.
so why is this? it’s not the first time that happens to me; just curious.

Okay, girl here are some possibilities for what happened:

- She may have a jealous friend who didn't like her commenting on your pic and convinced her to unfollow you. Girls can be petty like that sometimes.

- Maybe she started talking to a guy and didn't want your pics showing up on her profile while interacting with him.

- Possibly she's going through something personal and did a social media purge, unfollowing a lot of people. Don't take it personally!

- A long shot, but one of the accounts you follow could have shared something offensive and she wrongly assumed you agreed with it.

- Some people just randomly change up who they follow/unfollow sometimes too without any real reason behind it.

I wouldn't stress too much sis - like someone else said, her weirdness ain't your problem! If you wanna know for sure, you could always try DMing her casually to see what's up. But if she doesn't respond or gives a lame excuse, forget about her. Keep doing your thing girl. Her loss!

No problem luv! I'm glad I could help give you a different perspective on the situation. Definitely don't stress too much about what that other girl did - like I said, who knows what's going on in her head. She probably just had her own stuff going on. I know it can be tough not to take things personally sometimes, but really try not to. You didn't do anything wrong. Just keep being your awesome self and putting good vibes out there. I'm sure another guy will come along who sees how great you are. Girls always have to deal with so much confusing social stuff, it's not fair! But you seem like you've got a good head on your shoulders. Keep holding your head high - her actions say more about her than they do about you. Hope you're feeling better about it now!

I don't see a need to unfollow or unfriend unless the person would be acting spammy. I haven't been on here long enough to witness it because I don't believe anyone follows me, lol.

i meant on instagram. i thought it was strange what she did bc she literally followed me like a week ago or smth

Maybe she's just doing a spring cleaning. I do that every once in a while when I scroll thrugh my feed and it gets too discombobulated.

could be she is being selective with whom she wanna keep so she removed u n the less important friends on her list
