Good progress, seems like she is slowly getting interest in you. But still can't say absolutely that there is chance for you or not. Because yes she is taking interest but same time she is ignoring you so yet you have not came into that close circle to her.
Now as she was in same school and from same town you can ask questions something such which she and you both could relate with. For example anything she likes in that school any rumours in that school during old days about teachers there etc. Or about your city that what you like where you like to visit. You can ask questions related to that and can share your experience and also can ask about her experience. Ask questions with what she can relate or she can enjoy sharing with you kind. See how open she is while sharing it with you.
And yes keep it might you never show your desperation, don't flirt in desperation, don't cross a boundary of respect. Talk like your friend but maintaining the dignity and respect. And show how you are not cheap like others. How you are different from the bad image of people around. Stand out.
No but I'm an Indian too and I have chatted with 100s of men online over strangers app so I know normally indian men at this age 20-24 gets a little bit desperate and do mistake. Also I know indian men do lack skill to impress girl so they need to be trained so it was just a warning for the precautions.
