I mean, after all, she polished her nails and wore sandals to show them off. Why would she be offended that someone noticed her toenail polish?

She shouldn't be upset. If she painted her toenails and then wore some open toed shoe or whatever she is meaning to show them off. I don't really find that different than the girl that purposely shows off her cleavage with a low cut shirt and pushup bra. She is doing it on purpose and is bound to be noticed. This sounds like something pretty trivial to get upset about. I know that I wouldn't really think twice about a comment on my toes although I don't paint them but once in a blue moon. It would be no different in my opinion than someone commenting on my fingernail polish. Again not something I do often but I wouldn't be offended if someone made a comment.

Very interesting! Twice, two different girls I worked with, were talking with their work friends and brought up how some random guy complimented their toenail polish. One painted them in the Miami dolphins colors and the other painted them red, white and blue, for the Fourth of July. They both thought it was very nice and were actually kind of bragging about it. It’s strange that a girl would be offended by it.
I had that happen at a thrift store one time. I told a woman who worked there that she had pretty feet, and she and her co workers laughed at me and said I was a weirdo... lol
