I had a friend once told me "Femme fatales" only exist as "female incels", thoughts?

He said something to the degree of:

"In literature, they are an inspiration and empowerment of damaged women... Something his girlfriend wants her daughter to be if, let's say, he failed to protect her from evil men out there."

He responded to her girlfriend with: "You know what these "Femme Fatales stories" explicitly leave out. Reputation... An element of reality."

"If a woman try to do even a quarter of what these "fatal women" do in movies/literature in real life, no man would want them besides their bodies..." As their personalities are virtually irredeemable... As men don't lie to other men about a women's reputation unlike a woman's gossip...

His saying goes: "If a girl tried to mimic "Cat woman" from Batman, she'll be a cat woman in real life..."

"As she'll be alone with cats the rest of her life..."

"Not even the desirable man would like her back, no matter how much she'll try to pursue him... "

"That's what finally will break a "Fatal women"... The rejection from a man she's tried not to manipulate."

"There are a ton of men who are losers and are incels, as they can't get laid..."

"But a woman incel is a woman who can't "keep" a man... That's why women who get multiple divorces by the man or can't get married are deemed "incels" in my eyes".

"A man's job is to protect her and care for her, a WOMAN'S JOB is to keep him and reinforce her worth... That's why the woman takes the man's last name, not the other way around in marriage..."

The “fatal” aspect of the femme fatale archetype comes from the fact that she is often actively trying to kill the protagonist as a woman. This means stealth, deception, manipulation, and often some forms of poison in order to get what she wants. When men kill, they’re aggressive, using weapons, fists, it’s never clean. There’s always blood. The femme fatale is very much how you can and should expect a woman to kill a man who can fight back — she makes it so it’s impossible for him to do so. The “femme” part of the femme fatale is the fact that she is and knows she is a beautiful woman and uses that beauty to manipulate the situation to get to her desired goal.


Your friend is trying to equate sex to value and apply that concept to everything while not realizing this is just the Dunning-Kruger effect in action. If you don’t know what that is, I’m saying your friend is talking out of his ass.

I'm not a English person like y'all... But I just take his critique with more weight since he has a higher research degree. Plus he teaches during the summer...
