i also get called a tryhard for listening to rap music but I've been a fan since like i was 6 and im 30 now i guess im not gangster, cool, confident, or attractive enough to listen to that music so im perceived as trying to fit in or be someone im not. Im a shy quiet guy and very reserved

But you're giving me enough that I could start to make an educated guess that's a bit better than my original answer. ... you mentioned rap music, not gangsta, and so on. We've all seen the usual out of place wanksta or in terms of other types of music scenes... we'd call them posers.

The cartoonish image it conjures in my head is some white boy with one of those fake "grills" in the teeth, with sunglasses and topped off with a chain (necklace) and speaking more Ebonics than the most uneducated nignog from some dirtiest part of a dirty ghetto. <--Obviously my cartoonish imagination describes what could make a shy, quiet and very reserved guy look like a tryhard.

As to what details that made it your fate to get called a tryhard, I'd like to hear your thoughts on what that could be in reality.

What do you typically wear?

i usually dress like a bum but since i was with my mom she wanted me to dress appropriately so when this was said i was wearing a hooded long sleeve under a black polo, dark denim jeans a nike hat to hide my haircut (was cut short) and vans sneakers. My pants were falling off my ass so i was walking like a 'gangster, as my hands were full my clothing -i was at a store - and couldnt pull them up. As i walking past her while she was shopping she said quit trying just a walked past her. Im a pretty cool guy when people get to know me but im very shy quiet and reserved
