Absolutely not. You should really listen to the women who have been through this level of trauma---it is absolute hell. They aren't using it as an excuse. God forbid, when it happens, they must undergo psych evaluations to determine their mental state, issues beforehand, any attempts at mental healthcare that were taken prior to the incident(s) etc as courts don't just take her word for it.

It is the same with any suspect in a murder case who claims 'they went insane.' What you're arguing, in a way, is that a mental disorder doesn't exist when this is far from the truth especially when there is so much proof out there that they do. Anything from PTSD homicides to schizophrenic homicide---some people argue the same thing---"why should they be let off for their crime," but talk to the families and friends in these cases, they often note that there was trouble long long before they actually killed someone, rather than just some made up excuse to try to get out of a murder trial. Additionally, if convicted, nowadays suspects are given sentence like murder by way of mental disorder as opposed to suspect is just set free. There is an acknowledgement of both being true.

Not, they're very serious mental health issues. Dismissing them as "tiresome" and "bogus" mean that people are less likely to seek help to resolve the issue, resulting in more harm from unmitigated disorders to both the woman and the people around her.

I understand and respect that it’s a scientifically recognized condition and it might be right up there with cancer for worst of all time. Can you imagine coming out of any form of psychosis and learning that you k*lled your own kids?
That said, it absolutely IS an overused excuse to let women out of paying for their crimes. It’s also literally a violation of the US Constitution. As we are meant to be equally protected under the law, “PPD” and other similar conditions are used exclusively to defend women from prosecution in US Courts.

It’s absolutely not an excuse, but woman’s body goes through during gestation and during childbirth is a hormonal nightmare that involves at least two people; Her and the baby. If you want to know yourself in it, you should do so in a positive way by not saying stuff like this. It is one of very few mental health episodes; that can actually be proven to exist in the first place via a biomarker. There are literally no bio markers for any other mental health disorder on planet earth absolutely none.
