Why are women more satisfied with their own gender than men are?

It seems like whenever there's a poll asking if someone would prefer to be the opposite gender, men usually say yes and women say no and also when it comes to being transgender more men transition to women than vice versa. Why is this?

Because femininity is allowed to be in a constant state of flux due to the fact that it’s based on the “new” (i. e. new beauty trends, new standards, new ways of expressing yourself). Masculinity is inherently rigid because it’s based on the “old” and therefore never allowed to change.

Are they though? Their increasingly strident claims that they're as good as, or better than, men don't convince me. If being a woman is so great why do they increasingly behave like men?

Also I've never wanted to be a woman, and the transgender issue is more a case of hormones and brain physiology than a reasoned preference for the female role.
