But she can’t say that because the idea that she’s single means you have a chance even though she’s not interested, so she has to say she has a boyfriend because men like that will respect an invisible man more than they will a woman

I don’t like saying a I have a boyfriend in a brand new relationship, because if we break up, all my other options are gone to because they chose other women when I was temporarily taken. But if I am in a relationship, I have a duty to scare other guys off, even if I think the chances of marriage are less than 40%.
