I don't think either gender has it easier overall. The advantages and disadvantages each gender has are different, though, and people tend to covet the advantages of the opposite sex while dismissing or ignoring the disadvantages.
Many of you will have heard of Nora Vincent, but for those who haven't, she was a Feminist lesbian journalist, and she was convinced that men had easier lives, and decided that she would "go undercover" and live as a man for 18 months and write about her experiences, sure that she would find ample evidence of men's advantages.
She was so disturbed by the struggles that men face and how they are treated by society (including her past self) that it sent her into a years-long mental health crisis that ultimately ended in her moving to Switzerland and having an assisted suicide. She did write a couple of books after the experience of living as a man so you can read about it in her own words.
I don't think men would have it much easier if they had to be a woman, though I don't know that it would cause quite the same mental damage. It still wouldn't be easy.
Feminism has taught women to abandon femininity and to embrace male roles, male priorities, and male ambitions, and women's mental health has never been worse. Half of all women in the US have a diagnosed mental health condition and a third are on SSRIs (serious depression meds) - and the numbers continue to rise. The numbers for men are much less than half, and most of the men with those problems have been to war.
Maybe the biggest problem today is social media, and in particular, people seeing someone else's heavily curated "highlight reel" (which is often largely faked anyway) and comparing that to their normal life, causing them to be depressed and feeling that they are entitled to someone else's fantasy life (that, again, is often not even real), and making foolish, shallow decisions for their lives as a result.
People are passing on REAL connections and experiences because they are holding out for a fantasy that largely doesn't exist, and to the extent that it does, is only enjoyed by a tiny group of ultra wealthy people that they are not and will never be apart of.
Definitely men have it much easier in life. Women on the other hand have many more challenges to overcome than men ever will have.
The worst challenge would be the menstruation that rob women of their energy, quality of life and is, for most, painful for a number of day, every single month for something like 30+ years.
Not to count that women are generally objectified and solely seen as sexual objects by men. To be demeaned, to lose your dignity because of your gender adds to that difficult life that is imposed upon us.
I would trade the gender anytime if I could and live the easy life.
Read Norah Vincent's book Self-Made Man. She once thought as you did, and then she actually tried living as a man for real.
In my own anecdotal experience, men. We don't bleed or bloat monthly, don't have our bodies changed by childbirth, we don't get hit on by every loathsome jerk, and we don't have people openly question if we slept our way to the top if we are successful. Women for the most part might get a meal at some dive until the relationship is established. Oh, and they are not subject (in the USA) to the Selective Service, which hasn't been used since the 1970's anyway.
I dont think this question can be defined by a gender. I know women, and men. Who have had it the worst. I think its person dependent
Neither have it easy, no flame wars are needed!
Men, no contest.
This should not need explaining.
Depends on what men and what women.
For example, Elon Musk has much easier life than most... both men and women.
However, women (if they are attractive) - have much easier life than most men.
Men have it easier.
