When does it get clingy or desperate always starting the conversation?

So I like this guy that I'm friends with, and I find myself constantly wanting to talk to him so I usually start the conversations. It might be through SMS or Facebook or even in person. When I do he responds well but he never starts them...which leads me to think that he is no that into me, he doesn't think about me during the day enough (or at all really) to actually text me...the thing is he is really flirtatious with me and does it openly, and when I do start the conversations he is really into them, we talk about everything and laugh a lot...so basically my questions are: does he seem into me? And secondly when is it too clingy to always start the conversation? Is he seeing me as desperate? And lastly do guys realize if a girl is into them? Thanks for reading guys!

Guys don't talk just for the sake of talking. That's a woman thing.

So if the guy has nothing to say, he will say nothing.

That doesn't mean he's not thinking about you, or not into you. Its just that guys don't feel the need to communicate all the freaking time.

She texts him "Thinking of you. Hope your day is going well. xxx"

A guy wouldn't even think to send something like that. But if he gets it, he'll probably send back "You too! xxxx" or something like that. And then that's it as far as he is concerned. Coversation over.

But to the girl, it's like "Great, he's responded! We can now have a *conversation*" And next thing you know she's asking him where he's going for lunch, who's he eating with, what's he having. A million pointless questions. And god forbid he doesn't respond immediately to them.

That will just trigger the *everything is about me* response in her, and she'll start placing herself as the cause of every silence and every delay. "Did *I* annoy him?" "Did *I* say the wrong thing?" "Did *I* offend him?" "Does he not fancy *me* anymore?"

Give it a rest.

For the love of everything holy, please god give it a rest.

Please then tell me how will we keep in touch, how do I ask him out I can't do it out of the blue. Or how do I get him to ask me out if we don't talk for the sake of talking which I truly respect

You can keep in touch as you like - just don't expect him to always respond immediately, don't assume a single response means he's going to have a conversation with you, and don't take his silence as a personal rejection of you.

hahaha..i am in this situation right now..the thing is ...i know it's wrong so I just try not getting close to him..anyways, you are a lady..so don't forget that.. (: some guys arejust VERY FLIRTATIOUS.. so be careful..coz if he's a true player, you'll find yourself falling for him and eventually you'll just get hurt..

for me personally, they guys, should do the courting ..not the other way around..

hmm possibly, more than anything it just seems you have more interest in him than he does you, make him miss you and give him some space
