I'm really shy so I don't approach guys. I'm also rather quiet even around guys I think are good looking. Would guys think I'm uninterested because of the way I act?

Yes, most would assume you're uninterested. It doesn't matter how shy you are, you should at least maintain some eye contact and smile. This will dramatically increase the amount of guys who wouldn't have the confidence to approach you otherwise. Not establishing eye-contact or smiling (even due to nervousness) will give the impression that you think you're "too good" for the guy, taken or not interested.

So many guys like me confuse uninterested with shy. Even if you're shy the best thing to do is, smile and eye contact, that way he will know you are interested and he will make the first move. But there is nothing less attractive than a girl that doesn't smile, trust me!
