For me, shyness or social anxiety is fine unless she says that way even after several dates. She has to at least at some point open up. I would be afraid that she would be shy or insecure in bed. I want a woman who has a drive in the bedroom, even if she doesn't like to take control sometimes, she at least needs to be enthusiastic and not skittish about it.
It isn't a turn off though. I am shy too, but after I get used to someone and comfortable around them, then that shyness mostly goes away.
It really comes down to her personality and if we are compatible, and to what degree of anxiety she has. If she is the type to hide behind my pants leg, then yeah, that would wear thin after a few dates. If she blushes and has to whisper stuff into my ear, yeah, that would be hard to deal with. But if she is just shy around new people and needs time to warm up, I wouldn't care, because honestly, I empathize. I am like that, at least for now.
Socially awkward can mean, very insightful, and unpredictable, and not easily ‘bought’.
All of which are very POSITIVE attributes!
Well sometimes its cute but other times its weird. I know a really awkward girl and let me tell you some times she tries to be social and outgoing and good lord it is so cringe. She also tries way too hard to be funny and it comes off as forced and awkward.
I am super awkward but yeah a lot of men and guys have told me it’s endearing

Alright. One piece of advice. For the love of GOD, EVEN IF YOU'RE SOCIALLY AWKWARD, just LOOK at him! Just now and again. Raise your eyes. And give him the chance to make a move. That's the single biggest problems with shy girls. Things never progress because there's too little eye contact. Seriously. Eye contact. Make the effort. Everything will happen from there
It's not bad if the girl opens up after a while. And I think the same goes for the socially awkward guys. I haven't had a hard time meeting women when I was younger and yet I was socially awkward at the time too
I usually find that shy girls are much more cuter than girls who aren't. Shy girls make it interesting while you're in the talking phase because you can tell that sometimes they'd like to say something back but they refrain from doing so. It's the most satisfying feeling though when they do open up!
No it's not a turn off, they just have to put some effort in it. If we do all the work all the time and she doesn't show a lot of interest, we don't like that period
If the guy is mature and emotionally intelligent then he would think it's cool and He would try to bring you out of your shell. Awkwardness is cool Coz it's honest
Been gawky is cute, it also makes people more relatable as well to a certain degree everyone's gawky at one point in their lives.
No because i used to be socially awkward too haha it got better
Usually not. It's actually kinda cute. Unless the girl is *really* socially awkward.
Shy girls are a huge turn on. Good genuine men don't want to deal with immature, loud, obnoxious women so yes they are a huge turn on for men.
Socially awkward (i am a little) is positively interesting, and shyness (HUGE turn on) because it inspires cuteness and sweetness.
Nope. When girls make silly mistake it's cute for me.
Actually, I like girls that blush or act awkward around me. They look so cute and I like teasing them to make them blush :)
It's only a turnoff if it turns you off. And no but socially awkward people are in my opinion the hardest to get to look at you
It doesn't make me any diference, if i like her i like her
C) I'm also shy and socially awkward, so I can't date them anyway. I need an assertive and self-confident girl, preferably dominant.
@Poppykate No, I have them already, I just like dominant girls, they turn me on.
@Poppykate Yep, I'm 100% sure ;)
@Poppykate I guess I could have, but don't worry, I won't ;)
@Poppykate :P :D ;)
@Poppykate I'm not naught, I'm very polite ;)
@Poppykate Exactly ;)
@Poppykate Nope, I never flirt, I'm too shy.
@Poppykate Yep, I'm ashamed of myself for being too shy all the time :(
@Poppykate Oh, I get it now :P
Yes, I want someone who can help me keep a conversation boring. Shy people bore me to tears.
I'm empathic and easygoing so it won't be a turn off as long as I know she likes me back
I'm so tired of seeing this question... no, it's not a turn off!
You ain't awkward you're just shy get over the shyness be yourself... No one would put you down
It's turn on, if anything.
I looove them!!! 😃😃😃😃😃😃
I personally love it.
I wouldn't touch one with a 10,000 foot pole again. It was terrible. They were all terrible.
I think its more fun to try and get them to laugh.
Sounds like he's the turn off.
It isn't a plus, put it that way.
I am too would be a perfect match haha
Awkward is hella cute.
Yes, it's a turn off.
You're one of the few honest guys here, I like your honesty too.
But if a guy says he doesn't mind it, depending on the girl's overall personality, would that be dishonest?
That's all little sexy
They may say it's not a turn off but it is.
Except if it's not.
Any reason why you think that?
@AllThatSweetJazz Most people I know aren't socially awkward and I don't think most normal people would be compatible with a socially awkward person. Any guy who says it's not a turn off is trying to be nice, doesn't know what it means and is trying to be nice, or socially awkward himself and doesn't mind a woman like that.
So in the socially awkward guy you've pointed out an exception to your own assertion.
Then 'most' isn't all, another exception.
Then not being exactly 'compatible' doesn't necessarily mean turn off.
Then we need to consider what kind of girl we're talking about. If you're talking about full-on autistic girls then yeah that's a problem. If you're just talking about the little bit shy, little bit awkward girl then that's fine. So besides all the exceptions mounting up, I think maybe we should leave 'what guys like' up to guys and not take it upon ourselves to decide what that is on their behalf, no?
No i prefer them way less. bitchy
Absolutely not
Perhaps
Not turn off
