Yes absolutely normal. You're feeling like crap and needing to 'find yourself' again. A great pick me up is a makeover. It's a good confidence boost, a way to be selfish for a minute (because we all need that sometimes) and a good representation of moving forward when thinking of the break up is keeping you in the past. After my first LTR I was 20 when we split, I got my belly button pierced and got my tattoo I'd wanted for 2 years. The depression made me loose a lot of weight and I probably did look like a completely different person. After ending my second LTR that lasted for 3 years, I had been really depressed IN the relationship and had gained a lot of weight, (from 125 to 163). On my thin frame and with a height of 5'8" that is A LOT of weight. So, after the end of that relationship I whipped myself back into shape again.

Yeah, a lot of girls cut or dye their hair or even just change up the style of clothes they wear after a break up. It's going to sound strange to a guy, but some girls feel like they need to change something about themselves after a breakup. It's as if the way they looked when they were with a guy keeps them connected to that relationship, and if that relationship isn't there, then they want to change it. And, of course, when we do try to look better than before, it's our little way of saying "ha! look at me now!"
Yeah. I always do something after a break up to kind of symbolize change and my life changing now that I'm single again or something. Usually it would be changing my hair a bit but it can be anything too like buying new clothes too. I believe it is normal and usually doesn't have anything to do with wanting to look more attractive but to symbolize change for yourself and to start new.
I see it happen a lot. One of my exes died her hair brunette because she thought I would take her back -_- (brunette is a personal turn on, she was blonde). Not the best example but still. Another ex of mine I ran into 3 years later and she looked completely different as well. Her hair color at the time was auburn, and she was very pale (almost unhealthy looking) and not in shape. Three years later she was dirty blonde with the inside of her hair died black, in fantastic shape, and had a real good color going on. Her skin was so smooth looking... I couldn't help myself and ended up sleeping with her again.

I think that most of us change it up by cutting our hair or changing out wardrobe to... make a change, kind of like a statement that she's working on bettering herself and finding something new. It's nice to change things up after a break up, it's like a fresh start.
Yeah for some people this is pretty normal.
She has probably been a bit down and thinking fresh start and pampering.
It may make her feel more confident.
Some people just make a change anyway, but for some after a break up making changes to their style helps them move on.I seem to notice a lot of girls cut their hair after a relationship ends, I've yet to figure that one out.
I have seen it a couple of time, like they make themselves look nice, I have even seen girls who lose weight after a break up. I guess it is kinda normal, perhaps more so if in a long relationship vs a short one though.
Totally. Guys too. It's not about "better" it's about wanting a change
I do that. Sometimes you just want a fresh start and new beginning.
yes some of my friends do that :).. they change their hairstyles. it's like new beginning for them.
Yes, Girls tend to cut their hair after break up but others focus on eating to relieve a heartbroken. I think boys too..
