"Macho men" can come in different forms. Yes, they are different than bad boys.

Bad boys are people who are either a) legitimately bad or b) have a mysterious, dangerous edge.

I've never been really into any "macho" guys, they are all typically too obsessed with their own masculinity, and feed too much into the cultural definition of what a "man should be" and not who they really are.

That is just my take on it, I am sure other people will disagree, and that is fine!
