They may just want to ask questions or share their opinion. They may not want to talk with others.

2. They don't want to receive rude comments

Unfortunately, some members answer questions according to the user. They may even be rude to some certain users just because of their race or religious beliefs. Or just because it is that user who is asking or answering.

3. They want to needle others

Yeah some enjoy it a lot. And when they have nothing to tell they just block the user.

4. They ask personal questions

Mostly about sexual life.

5. They don't want to receive pervert messages

Most women are in this group. When they comment on some certain questions, their message box gets full of messages from pervert guys.

6. They feel more secure

Some anons. feel better in this way. They can share their opinion freely. It may be a simple question like "What colour do you like?" but they will still go anon. for it. Because that's how they feel confident. They don't want others to see them.

Don't forget that not all anons. are troll!

I purposely went Anon just to answer this. I think a lot of people make such a big deal out of someone being Anon like we're all going to meet someday at a bar or something, so knowing the identity is pertinent. No, the reality is the internet is a vast room filled with randoms. People post all the time under fake names, with fake pictures even if you can see one. So when people get mad because they aren't Anon and they demand others be so, it's like, how does one even know you're telling the truth about yourself and who you are on the net anymore than that Anon where you see nothing? You don't. So whether Anon or not, I think people should just relax about it and not get all uptight if they can't see an "alleged" name or picture.

I goes anonymous if I wants to ask personal questions, wants to write my honest opinion without getting troll comments in messages, because I wants to discuss in the thread, and to not spam my followers feed with lesser interesting questions.

I sometimes went anonymous to ask a few rather inappropriate questions in order to not get my "reputation" "ruined" and needed some answers.
For example I experienced a phase of "i hate women" and asked it being anonymous - i confess. But I asked it in order to get some more help, sooo, I got what I kind of asked for.

Or other questions in order to protect my identity and protect a little bit more about my personal life. Privacy is my responsibility and I love it.
