The actions of the few are limiting the opportunities for the many. I have finally given up on all the anonymous posters that feel entitled to delete any response that doesn’t confirm their already existing belief. Who wants to put in time and effort to compose a well-thought-out response, only to have that response deleted? I have no problem with those who disagree with what I write and back up their reasons, but just deleting a response is disrespectful… unless the response itself is disrespectful. It’s amazing how many people feel entitled to get respect but see no value in giving respect. I have finally reached my limit, and I will no longer respond to any anonymous posts unless I see a legitimate reason for posting anonymously.
There are all types on this site. Some people just enjoy pushing buttons. When people react to these insecure people, that gives them power they aren’t able to achieve in real life. By ignoring them, they’ll lose interest and go elsewhere.
Other people present questions when they really only want confirmation their belief is accurate. This is most common when the topic is religious or political, yet it can also be seen with all the people wanting to legitimize holding onto unhealthy, dysfunctional relationships. Responses that don’t confirm what the asker wants to hear are deleted.
Others feel entitled to push their agenda onto others. People who feel secure in their beliefs don’t feel it is necessary to push their beliefs onto others. The ones who do, seem to believe the more people they can convince to buy into their belief, the more likely they chose the right belief. Confident people are more tolerant of differences in people, not seeing those differences as threats to their own beliefs. They won’t be in your face.
Others choose to play the victim. Whatever is suggested is met with “I’ve already done that, and it doesn’t work.” It’s interesting how they’ll try something new once or twice and then give up and return to the familiar dysfunctional patterns they know never take them where they want to go. We don’t master things by doing them once or twice.
Sometimes, people limit responses from a particular gender. I can understand this when we want to see things from the eyes of a particular gender, but I don’t understand it when the question is asking for something that any sex might hold the answer to. Here’s an example of that: Girls, What's the fastest way to get changed at a public swimming pool without being seen naked? The answer, if the poster is willing to get it from a male is this (and it would be easy to make themselves if they didn't choose to buy it): https://shop.theundress.com/
If people feel a need to hide behind anonymity, even though locating a person through a site like this isn’t very likely, then they’re not willing to let people see patterns in their questions and responses, to help potential responders determine if they want to spend some of their precious time helping out. Considering the quantity of anonymous postings, I’ll be freeing up a lot of my time by ignoring those posts. If you want to encourage the stupid, sex-filled responses and discourage people from giving well-thought-out responses, then continue the patterns so prevalent on this site.
