I am a gentleman , I may believe a woman , if she does the same job as me, should get paid the same as me, if all things considered are equal.
I respect women.
But I am a gentleman first and foremost.
I like to pay for dates , but I will never turn down anyone that insists on helping.
I pull out chairs, open doors, and other polite and courteous things.
I believe I am my date's or partner's protector.
It is my job to make sure she feels save , loved and special.
I will stand up to help a woman in peril.
I don't strike woman, I don't have too. ( Unless we have an agreement :) )
I am the head of the household, but that doesn't make my partner a lesser person or partner. But I accept the responsibilitym stress and take it on the chin when need be. IF I take on that responsibility and burden, she in turn, I would expect her to take care of me in kind for not having to deal with what I took on.
Dude you forgot the real men who don't use strength or act tough.
Ever seen a smith before? Remember that guy in the forge beating on a slab of steel and talk about material stress in the forums? Yeah that guy. He's a man and no, he doesn't have to do anything but work his steel to be a man. He doesn't need to be able to fix cars as long as he knows how to forge a sword.
It's called craftsmanship. It's the ultimate man thing that you can do without anything else to be a real man. It's skills and obsession alone.

I think your view on men is overly romanticised. Men have always been doing stupid crap that only they care about for no apparent reason. The only place where you can find those "Men being Men" is in literature.

Totally agree with everything you wrote. It's very sad that some are called for (men) but all what i see is bunch of crying babies who could talk their way out of everything that a man should be.
Being raised in the hard life school of being different in the middle east, got my ass handed to me many time till i started standing up for my self and turn the tables around which made me the man i am today, my pride went through a lot to be at it's top and i refuse the accept now days (men) being called as men.

What is metoo?
It was supposed to be a movement that woman were using to denounce sexual harassment in the workplace. Its actually been around for a long time but did not gain fame untl the whole Harvey Einstein scandal thing was brought to light. In and unto itself it is not a bad idea. Some men do abuse woman under them. The problem with metoo is that it has morphed into a very different beast. It has now become a movement where pretty much anything a man does is taken as sexual harassment and he is now dragged out to be crucified.
Say good morning to a woman and she does not like your tone... metoo
Ask and woman out on a date and she does not like you... metoo
Pay female coworker a compliment and... metoo
Make eye contact for too long and surprise... metoo
Where I work , since this whole metoo thing came out not only have I been more cautious around female coworkers I have noticed that most of my male colleagues have very quietly distanced themselves from the ladies at work. Nobody has mentioned it but I have noticed it. I have seen it at bars and coffee shops. There is something different with my fellow men.
