So if a man beats up a woman know that he'd physically stronger than her - that's not toxic?

Sorry but the way you think is like your from the 1940s.

A man who beats a woman is not a man.

I doubt men from 1940s had time to beat their wives considering they were busy fighting a war

This is a weird take. No one thinks a man is strong for beating up a woman explicitly "because he's stronger than her." It's genuinely always awkward when a man is even using a harsh tone with a woman, let alone attacking her.

You're looking to a nearly non-existent circumstance and asserting it's normal, encouraged and accepted.

the term toxic masculinity was created by MRAs to be used as a term to describe toxic behavior that men justify by relating it to their gender. of course feminists had to take this term and blow it out of proportion by claiming that anything that revolves around masculinity is automatically toxic masculinity.

but oh well I really dont give a fuck what they think. because as usual it is never "toxic" when they see it as something that serves a convenience to them

Toxic masculinity is femininity. When men act feminine it becomes toxic.

And why and how exactly? Men who put on makeup and dresses aren't bothering anyone. The other side however is always constantly ridiculing them.

You wanna get ripped and act tough then go ahead. But i dont get how someone liking girly things affects you.

Toxic masculinity is masculinity expressed in a toxic manner.

This isn't a difficult concept. Saying that toxic masculinity doesn't exist is the equivalent and of saying that all masculinity is positive.

You'd be an idiot for saying that.

And no I didn't read any of this. 👌👌

I somewhat agree. Toxic Maculity does exist, but it isn't the description of the man, it's the societal values that are pressured onto anyone born with a peins to be the described man.

There's no problem with being a hyper-masc manly man. There's a problem with pressuring people who aren't that, to be that more like that.

I'm pretty sure it exist for feminine stereotypes on the Womens' side as well, so it's not a male-exclusive issue either.

I don't agree that "men get shamed for being men". What I see more often are men acting stupid, then getting shamed for it, and trying to excuse it by saying " bullshit, I'm a man and that's what men do ! "

Smh. Toxic masculinity is very real. From the comments you post, you aren't in a position to discuss toxicity if you're a toxic, hypocritical person yourself.

Toxic masculinity is about how the patriarchy expects men to not be human, aka not crying, men dont feel emotions except anger, they can’t be insecure, men who shame other men for being feminine are toxic, men who promote dont teach their sons that crying, feeling, mental health is okay and normal are toxic. Its not about bashing men its about helping men and taking the patriarchy down.

This isn't it. Toxic masculinity exists in the sense that a lot of guys are overly obsessed with being perceived as "alpha", and if they have a high degree of "masculinity", some of those individuals feel a sense of entitlement to women's attention and feel superior to other men who are not "alpha". So in other words you're mixing up the reality of "asshole macho man who makes rape jokes = toxic masculinity" with a kind of politicized strawman of "toxic masculinity = masculinity is bad"

in my opinion, toxic masculinity does exist, but it has nothing to do with how masculine a man is or isn't, but rather how dudes are treated and trained in society. (Ex, the male suicide rate. Men's depression/mental health is not taken seriously by both women and other men, so they just bottle it in.)

Wow, i wonder how many people ITT equate the term "toxic masculinity" to saying that everything masculine is toxic. It's not. I know it seems like that when listening to these crazies that abuse the term and overuse it to the point of it losing meaning. There's plenty of masculine traits and habits that are NOT toxic.

“Toxic masculinity is not real” refers to men who can’t control their aggression, who’re racist, bigoted and who likely spend a lot of time in prison. So categorically yes, toxic masculinity exists.

If you behave in a manner that is commonly considered as specific to women. Whinnying, being emotional, crying in public, not knowing how to fix cars or things around the home, fears conflict, afraid of a lot including fighting and dirt, I could go on or...

A Weak and spineless boy, worships women and feels unworthy for them, cry's poor me all the time, wants to treat women like men. The typical femdominated slave, who has no sense of his own dignity or pride. His only victory as a man was a participation trophy for track day in 3rd grade.

Toxic Masculinity is when a girl is trying to be more like a man. Wearing tattoos and trying to lower her voice. It's gross and, in reality, many girls that do this just come off like a spoiled ten year old boy.
