Heartbroken because my crush doesn't like me back?

There's this guy i met at the beginning of the school year. We always used to poke eacother/mess around and i noticed i was the only girl he messes around with. We went from poking eachother to hugging everyday and one day we even hugged twice. When i asked him why he hugged me everyday he said ''It's because he likes to hug people he cares about"

Now i like him a lot but i think he has left me in the friendzone. My best friend said she asked him why he hugs me everyday and he said ''no i'm just a friendly guy and try to be friendly with everyone.'' and at lunch i asked him if he wanted me to hug him now (i didn't hug him earlier due to being late for class) and he said not now cause he's hungry. Now he has stopped hugging me and will still talk to me but we don't hug naymore and i think its because he thinks i like him.

The only other reason i think he may have stopped hugging me is because he heard i thought this guy was cute. And he came to the table and said, 'you think he's cute?' and walked away. Now he messes around with every girl and talks to me but doesn't touch me.

However, I overheard him talking to his friend saying''i wanted to date her''but i didn't hear anything else.

I just don't understand why a guy would hug a girl everyday for a week and hug a girl twice one day and really closely but just stop hugging me anymore. And to make it worse now he hugs/messes with other girls.

I think he doesn't like me? am i right?

Try to see it from his perspective. Think about what you might've done to make it seem like you don't like him anymore.
Or just talk with him and be direct. If everyone was just direct this world would have so many beautiful babies.

foh with that friendzone business. Ask him if he likes you or tell your friend to aks and if he says he doesn't then like someone else
