Guy's Behavior

What does it mean when he says "hey sexy" (but not obnoxious and cocky?)

he's not doing it in the obnoxious, kind of rude way that a lot of guys say it though.

he says it softer, sweeter...and usually he hugs me right after or usually runs his hand down my arm.

we aren't dating right now...and there are reasons as to why.
