What does it mean if a guy says: Well I gotta go talk to you later, then says Goodnight separately?

I was talking with him for a little over an hour. I mentioned how when I went to a One Direction was one of the best parts of summer for me, and then we talked a little about that and then he said: Well I gotta go talk to you later, then he said in a separate message: Goodnight. Does that mean anything, might he be annoyed, or is he just being friendly?

{***And just so you know, before you say it was because I was talking about One Direction, he actually likes the band a bit and said I was lucky where I had my seats at the concert, so yeah, don't judge about that part please***}

Also, I've been talking to this guy for quite a while and we always have long conversations and that, and whenever we talk, he asks how my day went and that. He's really nice when I talk to him, he's one of the only guys that doesn't seem annoyed when I talk to him. So don't say I'm over thinking it, looking too much into it, or anything like that. Just because I'm 15 doesn't mean I do that, I actually know a lot for my age. And just because I'm 15 doesn't mean I automatically like One Direction

Nope. Not really. It means that after he said "I gotta go talk to you later" he then decided that he wanted to add "goodnight" to that.

And you're fifteen. You're basically expected to be into groups like one direction.

I think you are reading too much into it. He needed to go and he said so. Then he said good night, either just being polite, or as a way to say he really was leaving - probably both. You know how sometimes conversations can keep going on and on after somebody says they have to leave.

You are entirely and completely overthinking this. He merely forgot to say "good night" in the first message and then sent it in a next one. If anything, I think it was rather nice he sent that follow-up message.

It means that he was going to bed. Nothing he said implies annoyance. If he was annoyed, then that's something only he knows. I don't see anything out of the ordinary here.

It means nothing. I say 'gotta go' and 'bye' in separate texts every time.
