Was he just using me to make her jealous?

Im starting to like this new guy but now I realize that he may have been talking to me acting all interested in getting to know me in hopes of making another girl jealous!

I noticed that whenever he was talking to me in class this girl nearby would give me dagger eyes. As if she wanted to kill me for talking to him.

Now after a few weeks I see him talking to that same girl and I swear I never saw them talk before even though we all sit nearby. He tells her "Long time no see" and they start talking like it's been forever but I dont understand why he didn't talk to her in the first week when there was no change in our seating for class.

Maybe im overthinking but I can't act normal anymore now that im starting to like him. Im not exactly jealous more like curious as to what their relationship is/was

It's hard to say since all you can base this off of was the fact that she stared angrily at you while you were talking with him. It could simply mean that she's jealous, and not that he's going out of his way to make her jealous.

I don't think you should give up on him just yet since you have no idea what's been going on between them and what his intentions are. Don't invest too much in him, keep yourself at a slight distance while getting to know him better. Try to figure out what's up with the girl.

All in all I've always preferred to not go out with guys who have fooled around with girls they're still in contact with or close with (close as in you go to the same school and see each other every day). It's just a bit too dramatic for me, it would be too awkward to get stared at angrily like that all day in school. And I just feel like the girl would try to sabotage things, or that she'll try to hook up with him again etc. But that's just me and it totally depends on how serious the situation is.

I'll try to keep a distance but i've gotten closer since I started to like him ugh

What most likely happened is they have had something going previously and she got jealous of you and then started speaking to him. Dont give up your convos unless something is going on between them, odds are if he wanted to speak to her he would have but he chose you.

Lol good attitude. I saw her today and since we were in the same elevator I said hello. She seems like the prissy type but she wasn't exactly rude just not too friendly

if that was true then i'm sure they would have talked earlier and him stop talking to her then go back. If he acts like you don't exist then yes
