My crush blocked me on instagram, but I never speak to him?

I have this massive crush on him and I'd only spoken to him once. After that I would just admire from afar without ever speaking to him because I'm too shy and we don't have any classes. I followed him on instagram in October and he followed me back but a few days ago I realized I wasn't following him. I checked and it turns out he blocked me because he wasn't following me and I wasn't following him. His account was also private now. I was really upset and cried all day because I had no clue what I did wrong I never speak to him. My friends thought it might've been a mistake so I added him again last night but this morning it read the follow button again. Meaning he rejected my request and has me blocked intentionally. I'm still so upset I have such a deep crush on him I honestly don't know what I did wrong or why he did it if I never speak to him, why would he block me?

I don't really know. But here's a question that ya should be asking yourself tho 'have you ever SPOKEN to anybody" about HIM? Cuz I don't see why any guy would randomly block a girl on social media (almost unheard of). Well unless ___ told him that you liked him (while he didn't like ya back) or if he was totally creeped out by you.
