Nah I think you're overthinking it. Guys can sometimes like more stereotypically feminine things (I. e. Clothes, hair etc) but that doesn't make them more feminine and less masculine. And even if it did, what's the problem with that? It doesn't affect you? Just pay attention to the men who you deem to be 'masculine' as oppose to 'feminine'.
I don't personally think strength of character has anything to do with being a man specifically - kind of a gender neutral but desirable trait all of its own. I think that guys are less confident these days but it's due to lack of socialization, not "femininity."
Do you think maybe they are so turned off by comments like these that they have a good reason for not approaching us. I'm not sure if it's a lack of confidence or they're just sick of being insulted the way this questioner and some of respondents insulted them here.
I know guys that play video games, improve themselves, do strength training, have plenty of confidence BUT they do not approach women because they know it's a waste of time.
It seems you are just annoyed that men would rather play video games than approach women or give you the time of day.
Yes, you can't really put roles on genders. My husband plays a ton of video games. He also didn't approach me first. But he is a "man" in that he provides for his family financially and he spends time with his kids when he can. He also fixes the house/car when his wife tells him to. I have met guys who don't play video games, guys who would ask me out first... but for some reason I didn't go for that. It wasn't because he wasn't manly enough or anything like that. It was for a lot of other reasons I won't go into. But the point is, there are a lot of different types of guys out there! Just don't categorize all guys into one group and then label them. That's not fair to them at all. good luck finding your man. I know it can be frustrating when you haven't found the one and it seems everyone else has.
Nowadays femininity and masculinity don't even exist because everything is gender neutral ( clothes, makeup , hobbies, etc..) and I don't get it first women say they want a guy whose more emotional and sweet and adorable and when they are we suddenly have a problem with it like WTF. Think of a "masculine woman" it's more accepted and I will admit even though I am a woman that it's sexist towards men to say they can't be feminine (gay, straight, bi, whatever) and the things you said have NOTHING to do with femininity, not all men are confident and not all women a have a low self esteem ( that what you're making it seem like you're saying) and people have different personalities. STOP ADDRESSING SOMETHING TO ONLY ONE GENDER WHEN PEOPLE can't CONTROL HOW CONFIDENT THEY ARE , THEIR EMOTIONS , OR ANYTHING ELSE THEY can't CONTROL.
Not having confidence doesn't make someone feminine. Just like having confidence doesn't make someone masculine. And how is playing videogames bad? And what do you suggest men do to "strengthen their character" You seem overly harsh on men for no reason. If you don't like a guy, don't date him, or maybe he won't approach you. But :) a lot of women are very happy with the men in their lives.
What you are describing isn't femininity. I think it has more to do with lack of social skills. Video games do nothing to help the basic skills of human interaction.
I beg to differ. Video games can help social interaction for the extremely introverted by removing the physical judgement aspect of it. It's most notable in online games (assuming the people aren't toxic). I find it quite fun and relaxing to voice chat with complete strangers that I'll never meet in person.
@Botchie yeah. That's not full human interaction. Sorry. I'm not trying to be into a discussion about the benefits of video games only that the asker says most of her friends are too feminine and I'm trying tso say what she describes isn't femininity. It's the lack of social skills.
@SarahsSummer I'm not debating whether or not it's full human interaction. I know it's not. But I completely disagree with your statement that "Video games do nothing to help basic skills of human interaction". They definitely help, but it's just not throwing them in the deep end of the social pool and telling them to survive. But I do agree with your first 2 statements.
@Botchie basic skills of human interaction include face to face introductions and the ability to carry a conversation once the face to face introduction is taken care of.
@SarahsSummer I agree there too. However, in order to interact face to face and carry a conversation, you have to have conversation skills. Of course, on paper, all of this is easy. But we both know in reality it isn't. Otherwise there wouldn't be so many questions on how to approach people you like or how to make friends. There would also be less bitter people because people would know how to take a hint that they aren't wanted. But in that universe, there wouldn't be a need for hints because we'd be able to effectively communicate it without it. Now, I did go on a bit of a tangent, but the steps do eventually lead up to this outcome. That being said, I'm all for letting people build up the social skills they need via whatever means necessary so that they don't fail at human interaction to the point they feel like taking their own life.
@Botchie a bit of a tangent? Lol. I'm still waiting for you to get back to the topic at hand that the asker posed. Are men too feminine? She cited a few examples of what has made them feminine. Care to help in that question?
@SarahsSummer I don't think what she used are examples of feminine things. Do I think men are being more feminine? More so than the past but I don't think they are too feminine. I still don't see men taking up the old gender roles that were associated with women.
Pretty arrogant to say that someone's interest in this games are not masculine. WTF. That's pretty judgmental.
Frankly a lot of guys are decent guys, but are shamed for being decent. Which is appalling. In the same way that attention seeking women slut shame good sweet girls to not be sexual at all.
Leading to a strange situation in which women act sexual around guys who are less decent and often less attractive than the original good guys who they actually like, but act innocent around.
Being nice does not mean you're not a man. What twisted logic!
Video games do not make someone feminine. Men probably don't approach women for various reasons. One of which is because a lot of you think you're entitled to way more than you actually deserve. You also set the ignorantly high to the point of where you're looking for something that basically doesn't exist. Further more to that even if it did exist, the vast majority of you "females" wouldn't and couldn't match those high standards on YOUR end. Essentially, women are the problem... period. Cry, whine, disagree all you want, call me sexist, blah blah blah. Facts!!
The amount of guys who can afford to literally play games all day is really really low. Maybe at uni or in school but majority of people need to work and may enjoy things like video games in their free time which there is nothing wrong with. I myself play LoL all the time with my boyfriend as a hobby/free time activity. I also don't see the connection between video games and being feminine. I disagree with everything you wrote and in general men are not too feminine.
No. There's a whole movement of men dedicated to improving their lives and refusing to put up with modern entitled women and marry them. Men are gaining more self respect and have had enough of unappreciative and narcissistic chicks. Its called MGTOW. there's nothing more masculine I can think of then not giving a fuck what others think and living for yourself. Men are sick of being seen as disposable by society and as ATM's by women. So we are reinventing masculinity.
MGTOW aren't reinventing masculinity, neither are feminists. You can't reinvent it, it's been the way it has been for thousands of years. It's human nature. I understand not wanting to marry bitches and that it's hard to find a good woman (it always has been, only the best men get the best women), but no MGTOW guy I've spoken to has been particularly masculine. Maybe that's why they struggle so much with women. Not caring what people think of you and living for yourself isn't masculine. If anything masculinity is about what men expect from each other (not women) - strength, courage, honour, competence. Most guys who say they don't care what people, especially other guys, think of them are usually weedy, wimpy, effeminate... The complete opposite of masculine. They're all of those things because they don't care that other men don't respect them for being weak.
Okay but just because you've never met a MGTOW man like that doesn't mean they dont exist. However good point about masculinity. I suppose I should have said we are abandonding expectations of masculinity from women.
I don't know if they do exist but again, most aren't masculine at all. Most are quite wimpy and beta. They're often the mirror of these fat feminists who get angry at any expectation put on women to be slim, good looking, attractive, to be able to cook, do things for a man etc. They see everything to do with gender as sexist and get so angry about it because they're obsessed with equality - which is bullshit by the way, men and women aren't the same and never will be. These guys often aren't really happy, all they do is complain on their forums to each other about feminism and modern women. Not that some of their arguments aren't valid when it comes to a lot of women, but that doesn't lead to a happy life at all but a sad one full of negativity and loneliness.
Nope actually women become like men.. women lost their feminine side because if which men would rather watch porn and play games than approaching women...
1.) A lot of girls have friends with benefits and shit... which is not the type of girl most guys would go for who wants a serious relationship...
2.) Another resource us many good girls are just not available!! So who to approach? We don't approach just any girl...
3.) Most girls have unrealistic expectations... many girls don't date a short guy.. Even if the girl is shorter then the guy... Most girls round prefer 6 feet and above...
4.) Most girls play mind games a lot... most of them even flirt and all just to get a confidence boost... Which leaves us confused...
5.) conclusion - playing games on computer is much better than all this shit
I don't see anything wrong with playing video games. And I don't approach women because I don't find myself in social situations where it would be possible. Doing it on the street is, as far as I have understood from women here on gag, just not ok and should be avoided.

long ago men and females were picking berries together, it was decided that the males should hunt while the woman kept safe and stayed to pick berries.
In time the males became more dominant, thougher etc while the females kept picking berries and obeyed the males.
Suddenly the womans decided they wanted to have rights, power etc and so it came to be as they slowly became equals with the males again.
Over time the difference between male and female was no more, so the answer to the question is no, the females just became more manly and the males became less manly because the females could take care of them self's now rendering the males manly-ness unnecessary.
This is the reason why I went gay! Because women do not know what they want anymore! First you want the nice guy sensitive to your feelings some one you can boss around! Now you want the strong many John Wayne type to come and grab you and drag you into the bedroom. I am Done with women! At least men know what they want don't change their minds or play games. period
Yes, they are becoming feminine. It's because we are slowly becoming feminised.
There are several reasons for this, so I'll break it down in bullet points; * The contraception effect: more and more women are going on the pill. With this, their taste in men have changed from masculine reproduction to feminine male companions. The feedback to this is that men will change their behaviour to meet this demand. * Men are castigated for guy behaviour. With the growth of pc culture, rough housing, locker room talk and lad attitudes are castigated. Men are slowly being feminised at school. * Priorities: men no longer prioritise having a family, being successful or etc, society has essentially demonised success as "privilege". With that in mind. it's easier to sit behind a game rather than develop a skill.
TL;DR... society is slowly removing the M in male.

no, we just know were unwanted and unloved, because girls assume things about guys of how were expected to be when in fact were not, plus girls don't give a damn about guys, and therefore girls refuse to approach us. girls also think were for personal gain such as money for example and were not for that at all.

Jesus Fu (king Christ, do you think you're insulting them enough? And you whine about them never approaching? If guys talked about me like that, I'd avoid them too. It's time to give the guys a break, especially the young ones who are so confused they don't know what to do. There are some pretty decent guys out there and it probably wouldn't hurt us if we did a little of the approaching ourselves. We can't put all the blame on them, we have faults and they have faults. The quality of a man's (or woman's) character is not dependent on him having a deep voice or a girls smelling nice. This is pure pettiness and alienates the guys.
honestly, some of topics i read on here i would expect to see written in shit on the wall of a mentally ill patients room.
I dont go out of my way to approach women any more because 90% of them are borderline psychopaths and class it as harassment, and then they complain about never being approached.
without going off on a rant, I can't be bothered with the hassle when it comes to women most are not worth my effort.

This will only increase in the future.
Right? Not everyone has to conform to their traditional gender roles. Maybe girls should start being the outgoing ones and approaching men.
@Botchie I know a lot of women that have approached guys
Yes both genders due to hormones in the environment are becoming more androgynous. Also media is slowly making androgyny popular.
The femininity and masculinity are lost somewhere.
The video games are fake accomplishments and escapism from reality.
