i was invloved with a player for years, games up and down back and forth, a new story everyday, it affected me almost psychologically, I thought he loved me but then he didnt, I thought wed be together but we weren't...it was hot and cold and finally one day I put everything to an end...he started the game, I ended it. No calls, no contact, no MySpace Facebook nothing, got rid of any connections with him. He'd be around me in person, would make the usual eye contact, id say hi politely and carry on. Deep down I did want him bad still, but I knew it was unrealistic. and that this man could never fully respect me as a potential wife one day. So I had to put it all to an end and I am so better off. It takes time to heal, you feel lonely, but its better than being like sh*t all the time and disrespected.

As a consequence, he did attempt to get me back, stalk me, chase me, and get my attention desperately again. I was polite but I never fell for his games again. I don't think I will trust him ever again. I want to be with a gentleman now...and find a nicer guy...

True players may remember you but not the way you think. Players objectify women. They treat you as a thing, not a person. So, when they remember you it would be to remember something they did not get to possess. So many women love the challenge of converting a player to their boyfriend. They think that if they just act differently, hold out for girlfriend status before having sex and the guy keeps coming back to them, that it means they are the "one". It doesn't. It just means you are the challenge of the moment. A true player will tire of you once the challenge is over and he has you. He then needs a new challenge and he moves on to the next girl.

Now players can eventually want a different life, but the transition from the player life to being with only one girl can be very bumpy and a lot of players find that they cannot stay true to that one girl, even if they love her. They still need the thrill of chasing girls. I would think twice before I put my hopes on such a man. He's way more likely to break your heart than to make you feel great.

i just wanted to add to all this and say that there are many kinds of players too, not all are just after sex, but ego boost and attention too, or the 'thrill' as most people would say. The player I was victimized by was a ego maniac and played mind games like a psycho. He never went far to get into my pants, nor with other girls, I guess because of his religion and customs, but he definitely liked making girls think he likes them, made up rumors about other couples, tried to hook other people up and such...he was a douchebag. and totally immature.

and sadly after still running into him and being in the same school as him, I can say he does not only remember me, but shockingly remembers a lot about me too...so I guess players are wired to know the mind tricks enough to remember every girl he can...just a thought...

but just because he remembers you and the things you said and your hobbies and such, doesn't mean he has a heart to care about u...there is always some sort of selfish intention on his part, may be looking for more ego boost...asshole!

A player will never forget lots of people. We all have those people that were special to us; all it takes is one good memory/moment that's extremely meaningful. Something simple like a smile, all the way to how he couldn't get that "one girl" he's been trying for.

When I was in the "player" mood I got "rejected" by hundreds of girls!  The very point of being a player is that you play the numbers and don't get attached to any one girl, I know that before I learnt how to pick up women was the time where I would get very attached to any one girl

There are many women that players couldn't have. The only difference would be if he spent an extended period of time (for some reason or the other) chasing her and still couldn't get her (which is rare). Usually, they give up on lost causes quickly because their motto is something towards the lines of there being plenty of fish.

Players usually get rejected quite often- they just know how to handle it well or pick up on it and drop the case before they get rejected.

Completely agree. Because a player is really more thrilled by the excitement of the chase, he will undoubtedly always linger on wanting the one who got away. In general, people want what they can't have.

I dated a player and never gave into his sexual advances. After 6 months, I had had enough and broke almost all contact with him. He's given me every line known to mankind to get me into bed with him. It's laughable really, but I think it's a desperate attempt to affirm his manhood because he somehow finds my rejecting him sexually a blow to his ego. Yet he didn't get the message and still asks if I want to hook up when I'm single. For a string of one-night stands that goes along with the friends with benefits bullsh*t? I don't think so asshole.

There is a difference with "couldn't have" and "the one that got away".  I don't think players care for the ones they can't have but as for ones that they truly loved which got away (possibly before they learned the tricks of the trade), those may take a very long time to forget -- if even.

I doubt it. Players get turned down all the time, but the difference between them and the normal everyday guy is that they have enough confidence to keep going up to girls. They let rejection roll off their backs a lot easier than most because they know that there will always be another girl to take the other  one's place.
