My date and I kissed, now he's acting distant. What happened?

So this is the 4th date I've been on with this guy. I REALLY like him. I know he likes me he's always trying to see me and we have a great vibe and connection. Well yesterday was my birthday I took it off. He happened to be off too so he asked if he can come over. I told him of OF COURSE lol. He asked if he can download the first season of Game of Thrones so we can watch it together over here. (I told him I've never seen it). I told him yes that's cool. He came over we cuddled on the couch he was very comfortable, we laughed and joked together for about 3 hrs. When it was time for him to leave, he stood up and I got up to give him a hug. He hugged me tight and lifted me a little. Our heads turned and we kissed for the first time! A few pecks... he has a huge smile so after all I seen was teeth. Lol it was cute. So after he walked to my door to put his shoes on, he pulled me in for another hug we kissed again but this time he rubbed my butt I felt him getting a little excited in his pants. Lol. Then we just said our goodbyes. Today he never texted me (which is something he does everyday). I texted him later close to when he was getting ready for work asking him how his day was. He was very short a few convos. I eventually asked him was last night awkward for him. No reply. This was before he got into work. I know I won't hear from him until tomorrow bc his job won't allow him to bring his phone in. (We both work nights, separate jobs). Did I miss any signs? What happened?

But it's just one of these 2

1- he is so much into u ( like u a lot ) u drove him crazy wth first kiss XD so once he went back for another he really find u super sexy couldn't hold himself.

2- he is just after sex and he is another asshole so beware of that.

He was trying to have sex with you and you weren't on the same page. He maybe thinking you're too much work to get into bed with him so he's backing off. If he liked you a lot and the kiss was great you should be hearing from him in 2 days tops. Most guys will text you that night saying how great the date was if they are genuinely interested. I'd wait and see what he does. And don't have sex with him for a while. Make him work for it that's the only way to tell if he is serious about a relationship and not just sex.

I honestly don’t know why they do this. A guy friend told me it’s because they like you so much, they feel like they’re getting comfortable around you and they don’t like that! So they try and back away so they’re not vulnerable with you. But It depends I guess, all guys are different. The same thing is happening with me and I am so confused.
