This is curvy and voluptuous. It certainly isn't "fat". "Thick" means curvy but generally with exaggerated ass and thighs - aka the Kim Kardashian look. Cubby or fat means you carry more weight in your middle (waist/belly), ass/thighs, and in your upper arms, and/or you have a "muffin top" or fat rolls. If he called you curvy or voluptuous, it was definitely a compliment - and probably the kind of girl he prefers.

Soooo many women are experts at twisting compliments to somehow be bad. Why do you work so hard to do that?

Curvy means you have boobs and hips and a noticeable waistline (meaning it goes in like an hourglass) - it does NOT mean you're fat. Unfortunately, fat women trying to call themselves "curvy" has distorted the true meaning of the word.

Your guy meant this in a good way, and you're making it bad. That helps no one, especially not you. Why do that to yourself?

Honey, he loves your body. He's paying you a compliment, so no worries. You're a healthy woman, with lovely curves, and when he's saying that he's acknowledging it.

Girl, you have an amazing man that loves every part of you. You don't need to forgive him, you need to thank him and apologize for reacting this way (I know body image haunts us and can be really hard to see past).

I've always been a person who google celebrities body measures to see if someone matches mine - it is super rare that the word 'voluptuous' is used to describe someone but i've come across it a few times. Kim kardashian was one of them. I googled the word and it means a very sexy, curvy woman who has the body that most people find very attractive. Not because your curvy mean your fat a thin girl can be a hourglass figure as well as a fat girl ( most people never gets this it's common sense) Yes he said your fat it's not a big deal you said your average size also if he thought you were disgusting he wouldn't be with you in the first place because you would turn him off and he loves you so he loves what he sees inside and out and please gain some confidence

I'm pretty sure he doesn't think you're unattractive. If a girl's body has a bit of "thiccness" in the right places, it makes you sexy. Curvy is good! There's a line between being curvy and being overweight. I'm willing to wager you haven't crossed that line yet. Do not let this worry you.
If you simply can't get over this, ask him what he really thinks. Wait until he isn't busy or playing games or something, and tell him how you feel.
Guys hate to give compliments and have them twisted around and have a negative effect. You said it yourself, you're not a toothpick, but you're not fat.
Being too skinny is almost as bad as being fat. Many attractive women are somewhere in the middle ground.

Curvy refers and has only referred to a hourglass figure relating to the shape of the body when a woman has wider hip bones which is what makes a woman "curvy" Not actual fat.

Voluptuous refers to a woman that is characterized by luxury or sensual pleasure. A curvaceous and sexually attractive woman.

Neither of those words means or says anything negative about a woman in any way.

So unless your going to get offended by wide hip bones or being sexually attractive I don't see what the issues is.

Also keep in mind that the media is breeding men with the perception that anything, that isn't transparent, is thick.

Whatever he meant by it, if he wouldn't find you physically appealing, he wouldn't be dating you.

my wife is voluptuous and curvy. she has a beautiful hip to waist ratio, nice butt and boobs.

i think it all depends on how one defines voluptuous and curvy but their more objective definitions are very positive. some people seem to use curvy to describe a fat person but i certainly don't and i don't think your boyfriend was saying it in that way too
