Well baby girl is something you would call your girlfriend. You dont say that to just a friend. So maybe he is flirting witj you.

It's not definite because different people have differentn views on language use, but it probably means he likes you in a romantic way. I don't think most guys talk to women like that unless they have specific intentions towards them because it's so common for women to think a guy is creepy if the talks to them like that and they aren't into him.
It is a pet name that he feels expresses his affection/love for you. Same as Honey, Darling etc. Don't get upset and start playing that 'Don't call me Baby - I don't belong to you' song.
