My boyfriend wouldn't really care if I cut my hair. I think he has said that he does prefer it to be long but he wouldn't be upset if I cut it. He has seen the mountains of products I use to keep my long hair looking healthy and nice, he knows how long it takes to wash it and style it, and how much money I spend on shampoos, conditioners and masks. If I were to cut my hair it would definitely be to take a break from all of that, and he'd be 100% ok with it.
Boys are silly for caring so much about their girlfriends hair.
1) it grows out, it probably won't be that short forever,
2) she's still the same person, your girlfriend, even with shorter hair and
3) even if you initially feel a tiny bit less attracted to her because you prefer longer hair, soon enough you'll get used to it and not even really think about it anymore, and
4) (most importantly) SHE IS HER OWN PERSON AND 100% HAS THE RIGHT TO DO WHATEVER SHE WANTS WITH HER HAIR WITHOUT YOUR APPROVAL.
If you want that hairstyle, go for it. Fuck (figuratively) your boyfriend if he gets whiny over it. It's not his hair and he should get over himself.

A woman's hair is an incredibly big deal to some men. It's very sexual as no one will touch it only you or a lover usually.
Long, shiny hair is a biological sign of fertility and health-men know this on an instinct level and that's why they find it so attractive.
A word of warning from personal experience however, I had my hair like yours and cut it short and it took YEARS to grow back due to having to use more heat on the shorter hair to make it look decent. Just maybe something to consider.
Ultimately, it's YOUR hair and you should be able to wear it as you wish, I would talk to the husband, don't just jump in and do it. Find out exactly why he may not like shorter hair, what he really loves about your hair long, etc... then you can fully understand one another.

So what if you're 24? If your hair looks healthy and suits you, there's no reason to cut it. Unless you want to. Most men are going to have an opinion on this, because they mostly like long hair. Long is subjective , though. Shoulder length is long for me. Hair is an important part of female beauty, and by changing it, you might look like a different person. Although, change is good. I can't stand not cutting my hair too long, I get bored. And for him, it would be like being with a new woman. Though, if he's so upset, take it gradually. Maybe cut them a bit above your waist, with many layers, like this?

Men prefer women to have long hair, it makes a woman look more feminine and softer. Some might not mind if its a tad bit short but if its super short to the point it makes them look manly/boyish.. then they don't like it. I think boyish haircuts are the ones men don't care for the most:

So you don't care what your husband likes? You want to turn him off? I mean, you have every right to want a change, but that is pretty drastic. Men like long or short hair, usually not both. Your husband's natural instinctive attraction to you involves your longer hair. So you are actually changing your image to something your husband naturally doesn't like and will have to force himself to be in to. I believe we have a moral obligation to look as best as reasonably we can for our partners. I would want to be as attractive as I can for my wife and I would never change my appearance to something she didn't like. Ultimately, it's your body, your rules, but he doesn't have to like it. I would recommend some kind of compromise. Maybe there is another style you both like.
@lumos The picture comparison the op uses is what I am going by. Like it or not, it is drastic. Why? Because it isn't a few inches like you are implying. The difference in length between those two women is close to 2 FEET! If you don't think that is drastic then you are naive and oblivious to the obvious.
Maybe I don't think it's drastic simply because it would take only a bit over a year for me to grow all of that hair back. And even getting it past shoulder-length would only take like 4-6 months. So yeah no, out of all the things you could care about in a relationship, I think getting upset over your girlfriend chopping some hair off is at the bottom of the list.

1) I love long hair on women. It is beyond sexy. Esp blonde.
2) I don't want to date a guy. I am not gay. When women cut their hair like in your bottom picture, it makes them look way too much like a guy. the haircut is not flattering at all, it just looks butch. So it is horrible and ugly.

When two people are married I think both need to compromise on things. It would be important that he meets you halfway and not just tell you to 'not cut it', it's your hair and you decide what to do with it.
Then there's the aspect of pleasing your SO and taking his wishes into consideration. There's got to be a balance between the two.
Hair is around the same length as yours and my boyfriend also 'told' me to not cut it because he likes it long. But.. there was a similar circumstance with my cutting my long hair roughly two years ago, despite him telling me not to. He loved my hair short afterwards so just do what you want- it's your hair, after all. :)
It should be totally fine honestly like he should accept you for how you are, but I guess he probably has a preference for long hair since its a lot more feminine maybe, and it's good for lots of hairstyles and all. Short hair is also pretty but watch out if your hair is really thick and there's a lot it might end up getting a lot puffier than you'd expect compared to girls with little hair. But do what makes you happy, I'm sure you'll look pretty hombre you decide to cut it.
Yes, I prefer hair that is shoulder length at least but it's also her hair so her decision. Usually what happens is we arrive at a deal: I keep my hair the way you like... you do the same & ask before changing. Of course me not being a total dick, I would always say 'yes' if she asks. Lol
My hair is like the short one but with a fringe and honestly I like it a lot more than when I had longer hair. It's healthier, easier to style and I personally think it suits me more. However I don't think you should cut your hair just because of your age, so if you like your hair the length it already is, then keep it the same length.
Honestly, most guys like the long hair bit. I like short hair and bet that short hair would look killer on you! There are a lot of older people with long hair (trust me). In the end, the ultimate decision is yours, but realize it takes hair a while to grow back (1/2 a MONTH on average). I say compromise. Cut it half way or at least to your shoulders and see if you want to continue. Don't hack it all off, just yet.

Yes I'd care a ton... Hair is a big deal of like "forming" your face and what not so if my SO would cut her hair that short I wouldn't find anything above her neck attractive except maybe eyes. So I would be turned off for months till it has grown out but if she never let it grow back I will tell and well if she won't just have long hair for me shit... I'll stop shaving and cuting my hair of she breaks up she hypocrite ;(
I support your decision to cut your hair and I wish your husband would too. Shorter cuts like the one in your second pic look great on girls. And it will have advantages for you in taking care of it, getting in your way, etc.
Shorter cuts are actually more high maintenance than longer hair. Everyone assumes less hair must be easier but trust me, it isn't.
@Twinkles88 I think that just depends on what kind of hair you have, like if it's straight or curly, what texture it has etc. My hair is very long, very straight and very shiny. If I were to cut it, literally the only change would be me using less products and spending less time styling it, which are both wins! But yeah if you hair has a mind of its own, it being short will probably come with its own challenges.
@Twinkles88 I've had shoulder length before and didn't really see or feel a difference. Also I can go almost a week without washing my hair, and I don't "cheat" by putting it up either :D
