Do men have the need to feel needed?

Do men have the need to feel needed?
There was a question posted here about men wanting to be used for their money.

It is not exactly that men want to be used for their money.
It is the fact of men needing to feel needed by their girlfriend or wife.
Men want to be useful, they need their women to lean on them. Tell a man you need him and he will burst with happiness.

Men want to be the knight in shining armour for their damsel in distress, that may be channeled into needing a woman to rely on him financially but not all men choose this channel. Other men want to be relied on in different ways such as solving your problems for example tell him your problem with a co-worker and he tells you how to solve it, or he's always ensuring he picks you up and drops you off so that you won't have to walk and get tired.
It can also be something as simple as asking a man to open a jar of jam.

Now, this is not a negative thing, it is not a bad thing at all. Men just want to be helpful to their women. There is nothing wrong with that and there is nothing wrong with asking your man for help sometimes.

So men don't want to be used they want to be relied on. Do you agree or disagree?
