Anonymous(30-35)+1 yit all depends on if he was marketing, or trying to promote some kind of business like fitness. I use to be okay with this in the past, but it just get old as time goes on. People should work on their confidence, and low self esteem after seeing the results of being vulnerable. We should be comfortable enough to be fully clothed posing for a photo. It's like taking a photo in casual business attire vs half naked attire. The casual business attire will get very few likes while half naked clothing get more than dozens of life. Your body is basically used to introduce yourself, and increase popularity. A fully clothed person is enough for me. If it's not for business wise, or job wise such as fitness then people should keep their clothes men/women. Don't use your body to attract attention. you can attract crazy people that way.

+1 yOkay... Yes its seems douchy but thats only cause it looks like he is trying too hard, like when a girl is posting pictures showing too much...
A way too look casual about it is when you are in the beach or in the pool, that way you kind of have a reason90 Reply
I used to do that and I wish I didn't. It does look douchy, I think mainly because it's seen as attention seeking, kind of like women who post provocative pictures in next to nothing so that thirsty guys will compliment them. It's a sign of insecurity.
There's no way to make shirtless selfies seem less douchy. I can understand wanting to be complimented and noticed, everybody wants that, but doing this does you no favours because while it might attract some it will repel others.
If you really wanted to show it off, use pictures of yourself taken by someone else while you're doing cool things. That way it doesn't seem like you're an insecure, vain, self-obsessed type of guy.20 Reply
+1 yI think it only looks douchy if the guy is posting pictures like that 24/7 and he's not a trainer, model, or fitness motivator, etc. I've heard that a lot of girls don't mind a picture like that every now and then. But, I wouldn't post a picture of my body unless I'm comparing it to one of my previous workout pictures to see/share my results. I know the feeling though. You train hard a fuck and just wanna show the world! But I believe there are ways to make it look more casual and less douchy.
BUT HEY! THAT"S JUST A THEOR... Sorry I've been watching a lot of film theory lately... xD20 Reply

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yMy ex-boyfriend did this once and I felt a little sad because I felt like that part of him was private between the two of us. I later found out that he was cheating on me. I guess when I see guys doing this my mind goes back to this situation and I view them as having a lot of options, if ya know what I mean. If I were you I'd save pictures like this for someone you're close too. Like if you're trying to get someone's attention you could always get their snapchat & be more direct w it lol. Usually I don't post revealing pics on insta or anything like that unless I have a specific person in mind and I'm hoping they'll notice me. I hope this helps!!
20 ReplySo women's can show their body
And they show literally every thing they can show if it's okay to show their boobs photos they will do it believe me !!
And we can't post shirtless pictures?
And believe every girl on the comments who said that she's don't like it and it's douchy,
Believe she do she like it
And im gonna change my profile picture to my body picture
Just because of all the negative comments!51 Reply
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI think if it's not too many pictures of shirtless pictures would be okay, but not 2 out of the 10 most recent posts, but also depending on the caption, if he's looking at his progress and/or what needs to be worked on, that sounds better to me, as opposed to just self-absorbed, shirtless pictures (accompanied by some cocky facial expression).
My boyfriend posts shirtless pictures of his front and back often. He does have good gains, big chest, 6 packs and muscular back, but sometimes I feel offended that he's letting the whole world see his naked body.00 ReplyDepends if it's a picture of him and some friends and there at a pool or something It's fine but if he's constantly standing in his bathroom minor flexing his muscles and post pictures on line I thing it quite cringey and as if they are probably desperate for female attention

+1 yI personally think it's unnecessary. It's fine if it's in a certain context, like on the beach, but taking off your shirt just for a picture just seems big headed and/or shallow. I understand being proud of your body but I don't understand the need to show it off every chance you get. Your body isn't going to disappear if you wear a shirt to pictures.
10 ReplyFor me it depends on the pose and angle. If he is purposely trying to show it off and it's coming off as trying too hard (squinting eyes, flexing, showing too much lower half) it's funny but not cute. But if it was one where it just looks like a guy that is taking a selfie that happens to have his shirt off, then that's nice!
+1 yDepends what context you mean. If he’s worked hard to get the body he has and wants to share it on social media, go ahead. Be proud of your hard work.
But for say a dating profile? It can come off as douchy, I don’t usually look twice at guys who post pics of just their abs on their dating profile, I need to know more than the fact that you have a six pack. (but they to each her own, some girls may like it)11 Reply- +1 y
hmm another Canadian girl with a head on her shoulders...
+1 yPretty douchey and a turn off. This is unless it's a gym pictures or beach or anywhere it seems he's not just taking a selfie of his chest because a shirtless guy is Stoll acceptable since they don't have tits. I just hate the flexing pics of him in the mirror like he thinks he's prettier than me.
11 Reply- +1 y
CLEARLY a shirtless guy is NOT acceptable. How are you gonna call shirtless guys douchey then say it's acceptable? Either it's douchey or it's no big deal
+1 yYou wanna be less douchey while still posting shirtless selfies?
Become fat!
Boom! Now you're suddenly less douchey and more funny!
You know what else is funny?
The thought of me getting laid, ever!
😂
😭
20 ReplyPosting one shirtless picture isn't a big deal but I know several guys who post pictures like that every week and I usually think it comes across as arrogant or conceited. It's kind of a turn-off to me. Like I said though, if someone doesn't have a habit of doing it and just posts one or two pictures because they are proud of the progress they've made, I wouldn't be bothered. It's just the people who post pictures like that ALL the time that annoys me.
06 Reply- +1 y
Arrogant and conceited for taking a bunch of shirtless photos?
- +1 y
Those are some heavy and judgmental words. Some people just like photos.
- +1 y
Everyone does make judgements, but not to that extent
- +1 y
But it's your opinion. I get it
+1 yIf you want to do that, it's completely fine. It's your body after all! But sometimes shirtless selfies seem arrogant and douchy, and it's just seen as a fuckboy move. But you shouldn't care about what others think, if you feel good about your body then do it!
00 ReplyDouchy is kind of the main attraction. People often say girls only go for the bad boys (putting it nicely).
Really, the only dissenters are the competitors. First, screw them. Second, appear confident enough to intimate them or something. No one is going to bad mouth a warrior badass, not unless they got giant cajones or are simply dumb.00 ReplyIt depends on the energy the caption and the pose put out. So long as you do your best to not come off as egotistical then you should be fine. Especially if it’s not something you post often because that just goes to show that you were feeling yourself at the time and it’s not a narcissistic habit.

+1 yI don't mind.
Whats wrong with that?
There's heaps of girls that post pictures of themselves in a bikini.
Why can't guys take photos of themselves being shirtless?71 Reply- 959 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic.
+1 yPersonally I am not into it and find it more unattractive than attractive. It just seems so like, tacky to me. similar to a girl posting half naked on a platform.
50 Reply Well I'm a guy and I don't really think the guy is douchy if he posts a few here and there but it's when they post all the time about how they had to work so hard for their body and how they are always hitting the gym to stay in shape that it gets annoying.

+1 yIf you’re posting a shirtless pic, don’t put a cringey caption, or one that seems braggy. Put something that says something like you’re trying to keep in shape or something. As for the actual picture, don’t do stuff like mirror pics or something that seems as if you’re trying to show off. It can be a gamble posting a picture like that, so I mean this advice might be kind of confusing. Hope this helps
10 ReplySince girl's opinions are so mixed. I'll just say this as a fellow guy. There's a fine line between the being douchey and sexy and you must be careful and conscious of it at all times. 1 millimeter off and you're an instant turn-off, buzz kill I say! If you're like me and you don't what the hell is going on or how to navigate through this I just don't have pics at all and it's a nice surprise when they do actually find out.

+1 yDoesn't bother me at all; if girls are going to do it to try to get attention, why can't guys? Hopefully he's got a good physique but then again a lot of girls that are fat or unattractive do it and they get nothing but likes and positive affirmation, so...

HOWEVER, keep the balance. Every pic of you doesn't have to be shirtless. Then looks like your thirst trapping50 Reply
+1 yI don't like it unless the guy is posting a picture to show how hard he's worked at the gym. Like the caption is like "lost 40 pounds". I can appreciate that because he reached a goal he was striving for. Otherwise it just rings fuckboy alert to me

+1 yThere are many people (men are women) who submit fitness photos or seminaked photos. Many? A lot. Is not douchy, it's just boring. However, you shouldn't care about anyone's opinion and do what you want.
10 Replylol, you'll find a lot of female douche bags claiming that its douchey if a dude posts multiple pics and is digging for attention from girls while doing so.
These are the same bunch who will shout from the rooftops claiming they wear make up and skimpy outfits for themselves rather than the crowd.
#douchies lmao10 ReplyI mean hey, go them! There are plenty of ways to waste your youth, so why not on pictures? As a girl, I could care less (unless your like Tom cruise or Brad Pitt). It would be a lot better in person, than through a phone.

+1 yI think its just as attention seeking as women who post 'look at my cleavage' pictures.
That doesn't mean they aren't appreciated though 😉 you're quite sexy my dude10 ReplyA shirtless picture is okay. But only 1. And not as a cover picture. If it's the first picture they see or every picture they see, it comes off like the guy is full of himself and also looking for someone who is a barbie

+1 yIn my opinion if they’re at the beach taking a picture sure but in your bathroom mirror and stuff I don't know, it’s weirder. At a certain age I guess it’s fine.
10 ReplyIt depends. If he’s showing off to get girls or guys then that’s douchy but if he’s proud of what he looks like and is showing that then it’s not douchy. It just depends on the way they portray it.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yI don’t mind it but it would be unfair to say that’s bad or souche cause lots of girls post pics in bikinis etc. so why should guys be unable to. I defenitely enjoy looking at a good abs pic although it seems a bit « douchy » if you post it with some kinda narcissistic caption or show off too much. To make it look less so don’t caption it with things like « summer body ready » or smthing. Choose something else. I don't know hopefully I helped

I would still think he's proud of his body. Nothing wrong with that especially if he worked hard for it.

It’s an inherently douchebro act. Nothing can make you less of a douchebro when you decide to post a shirtless mirror gym selfie. Just don’t do it.00 Reply
+1 yIt's superficial amd douchy.
If you want it to be less douchy, take a shirtless picture on the beach so it seems accidental/logical to be shirtless. That is way better than a bathroom selfie.00 Reply865 opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. The only way a majority of women wouldn't mind if it's someone else taking the photo of them - at the beach, pool party, anything outdoors where it isn't a "selfie".

+1 yI think it depends on the context.
A shirtless pic every now and then is one thing, let us say once a month or week, but every day can be a turn off for women as it shows that you may be a bit narcissistic.00 ReplyThey mostly look away because they don't wanna risk their panties gettn wet and the mental spiral of confusion about what just happened. If the pussy wasn't a problem to them they'd be bouncing on dick far more.
10 ReplyIt's fine although it might seem like he's just asking for attention
30 ReplyIf you want it to seem less douchy probably shirtless for a context meaning like shirtless on the beach or shirtless in a gym
10 ReplyI don't mind shirtless photos, but prefer ones that have been taken by other people in a natural setting like at a pool or beach, as opposed to a mirror selfie

@GothAncap The first impression of what kind of woman would call a guy a douche for it... his mom or one of his sisters, but quickly in the succession of thoughts came the idea of some snarky jelly chick stuck in the friend zone or possibly a guy's jelly gf/wife saying it...
Females that are strangers just stare... and lick their lips. Thirsty bitches.

Opinion Owner+1 yBecause they feel entitled. “We get to do things but when guys do it it’s wrong.” Just a bunch of thots, don’t pay them any mind

Girls wear crop tops, bralettes, see through shirts, shirts with all of their cleavage hanging out, shorts with their ass hanging out and they love to Say “I’m embracing my body”, “im showing off because I’m proud”, “it’s empowering” but when a guy posts a shirtless pic “it’s douchey” .
