What does it mean when a guy sits next to a girl randomly after sitting in a different spot for 3 weeks?

So there's this guy in my class who I find attractive and i glance at here and there. I don't know if he likes me but for 3 whole weeks he was sitting in the front of the class and then all of a sudden he decided to sit next to me. When he sat next to me he was constantly messing with his hair and then answering all of the questions the professor was asking almost as if he was trying to show how intelligent he was. He hasn't initiated conversation but we laugh a lot here and there during lecture and I've started talking to him. Do you think he's interested?

It's a botany class but I don't know his major though

From my speculations, it's a pretty big deal if someone prioritizes getting front row seats of class because that's how they find themselves to be focused. So to have him change his seat is quite sudden.

Were the front row seats or his seat taken for him to sit next to you?
Were you already sitting there when he sat next to you?
There are so many circumstances. But from what I've read, guys fix their appearance in order to look good and he did this constantly so he must be trying to look good for someone or his hair is just being a turd, haha. And it's funny how he finally started answering the questions when he hasn't been.

Yeah I thought it was weird! Like the first time I was already sitting there and he sat next to me and his seat wasn't taken and then the next lecture he sat there again when all of the other seats were available including his! I don't know he giggles with me a lot during lecture but I don't know how he feels because he never initiates the conversation lol
