Are MEN more goal-oriented than women?

Perhaps men are and my answer would be on the grounds of evolutionary biology. Now, for a long time, women’s primary inclination and purpose centered around child bearing and rearing, so perhaps their instincts evolved along these lines. They didn’t have to worry about protection, shelter, hunting, fighting, etc. because they relied on a man for that. Men had other purposes besides child rearing and bearing, so that perhaps endowed them with certain physical and mental capabilities that make them especially good at accomplish a variety of goals, especially physical ones, whereas women might not have evolved the same capabilities because child bearing and rearing where all that was focused upon her.

I think it depends on personality most of all. Men and women might also differ in what ways we strive towards our goal. Women might approach their goal in more subtle or refined ways whilst men go for the aggressive and dominant approach to achieve say, their career goals.

No, but women and men do have different goal orientations which yields different results.

The motivation of men is extrinsic, men try to succeed to do a better job than the others, to get paid more etc.
The motivation of women is intrinsic, women try to succeed so that they feel good about their ability to fulfill the task and avoid failure.

However, this also means that women have little motivation to take risks or to perform above what is expected of them.
Men fail more often, but also achieve greater results more often.

I don't think men are a more goal oriented then women. I think the goals they set are often different. Because of a number of factors women often choose to have more family centric goals and men have more career centric goals. That's not to say most women don't have career goals and men don't have family goals. But men often focus more on bringing home the bacon and women focus more on raising children. Their complementary and work best together, that's not to say they can't be flipped around but where talking about on average here.

I'm going to tell you the hard truth to this and it's not sexist but i've seen it over and over.

Men want to build things in order to solve a problem.

Women want to *accomplish* things so they feel accomplished.

This is not 100% true because you have lots of men who are insecure prideful pieces of shit and just find goals so they feel like big shit, and many women achieve goals in order to advance society and solve problems but I find women are more ego driven than goal oriented. As a generalization.

It depends on the man and woman, you can't generalize. There are lots of male NEETs out there are just aimlessly drifting through life with their biggest goal being leveling up in a video game or scoring some weed.

Personally, I would do just about anything for my goals, they are set high too. They are top priority for me and they drive me every single moment of my life.

No, like everything when it comes to these questions. It's not a sex or gender thing. It's an individual thing. Some people are more goal oriented than others. I know plenty of women that write out there goals follow it to a T and stay consistent at it. As I know a lot more men aren't that way.

Men are more competetive and ambitious then woman. Its a natural instinct that goes as far back as stone age. Because its always the female that chooses her mate. Thus, men have to prove themselves and work hard for it

Depends what you mean. Both have goals and targets.  Men have a tendency to focus on one or two goals.  Perhaps women have a tendency to be less fanatical and have more goals.
