I was a teacher for 22 years. I never sent or accepted friend request from any current student. Ever.
I have been FB friends with *former* students and I am very pleased to keep in touch with them to see how their lives are going. However, I always wait until they've graduated. Not just from my class, but from the school.
It's certainly unprofessional what your teacher is doing. Is it possible his intentions are innocent? I suppose it's possible. But why risk it? Report him.
Don’t accept it. A friend of mind teaches highschool and her fb doesn’t have her last name on purpose. Forgot if it’s legally or ethically but she will not involve any students with her social media. Don’t even know If she accepts requests from adults who were former students.
At the very least notify your parents as this teacher might be doing something against the rules and they can give the school quiet feedback.
personally, i wouldn't. i just find it weird for a teacher to see what im up to. thats why i dont accept my teacher request on my isnta, bc i just feel weird about them seeing my personal life.
I decline it and he poked me
ooh girl, thats really sketchy. yea.. I would keep my distance from him, and let your parents know.
I have his class in 10 mins i wanna ditch
uhhh.. if you won't get in trouble for it, id ditch. if you would, id stay but make sure he's far from you. and stay in a group of friends so your not alone. plus if he does any sketchy stuff, other people will see.
or call your mom, and tell her your ditching, bc he's doing some weird stuff. So she'll know and you won't get in trouble. trust me she'll understand that.
I didn't ditch and he kept staring at me and ask me if i could stay after class
did he give you a reason why to stay after? because unless its important, i wouldn't stay, thats just weird I don't know. take a friend with you or someone if you have to stay after class just to be safe.
I left and he send me another friend request.
thats realllyyyyy realllyyyy creepy. I would tell someone about it, your parents or like the principle or someone.
You even think he is being creepy, so why would you consider letting him follow you? I don’t think you should follow him or him you, it is against policy and you can get him in serious trouble.

Check and see if he has the rest of the class as friends on Facebook, etc. some teachers do this so they can find out who is creating gossip on who, so it really depends on the person. It would be an easy way to find out who was that kid that never got caught. There was a psychologist at a place once that I knew he did this to everyone and then he would immediately unfriend them.
pedophile alert. I've had a teacher back in high school who kept hitting on one of his female students in Italian class junior year and me and him almost got into a fist fight over his pedophilia. my friend had to calm me down and hold me back from knocking his lights out. needless to say he didn't work at the school the next year.
it wasn't because I liked the girl either I was getting sick and tired and disgusted by him hitting on her when she was 16 and he was in his late 20's or early 30's that's why I wanted to knock him out cold
Lots of classes use social media to interact, send in papers, etc. But offhand, yeah sounds creepy. I’d accept and then keep an eye on him. If it looks like he’s munching on other girls your age turn his ass in. And if you’re FB friends, you’ll have more evidence.
Are you an idiot? Serious question.
Nope; are you an idiot? Serious question.
Some of my Universities staff send requests so they can notify you of important stuff or so you can contact them directly if needed. I suspect its likely something like that.
I wonder how you'd be thinking about this if your teacher was attractive
Whatchu mean?
I mean there are many many women out there who would love to be in your position.
Why?
Wanting to bang your teacher is clearly more common than you realize.
That's nasty. My teacher old and ugly.
Doesn't make what he did creepy.
Yes it does.
If he were attractive you'd be all over this situation. Don't be a moron.
Maybe.
I think you mean "definitely."
No way. That's unprofessional... and creep factor is 10/10
Honestly probably not appropriate of him to do that. But that really depends on how you feel about it not all of us. For all I know you could be interested in getting to know and being friends with older guys
He's not being a "creep," you idiot. If you want to add him then add him and if you don't then don't. Same as anyone else. Pretty simple.
depends what the reason is for sending the request , did he mention he was going to be sending it?
I don't think you should accept it. Teachers usually tell the class they can send a friend request once they graduate
So decline it?
Ok. i will thanks
Not appropriate for him to do. Especially since you are under age.
That’s against school policy.
You’re only 14.
This guy is a creeper

I would definitely decline it. 👌
At your age? Creepy as hell. Watch out for him!
I told my mom and my momtold the school
Good for you and Mom! Your relationship with a teacher should be PROFESSIONAL.
Good job supporting a toxic mindset, dude. Really helpful to our society. Great work.
That’s improper and many schools frown upon it.
At 14? I doubt it. You're a child.
Rather be safe than sorry.
No definitely not, report him, beast
No dont do it. I think he is attracted. To u
