Is my teacher interested in me or just being friendly?

My teacher (M30something) asked me (F18) to go play tennis with him (adding "maybe it is better that we go after the end of the school year") and I agreed. A few days later he reminded me of this, so it seems like he is looking forward to it.
He is always very nice and affectionate to all students, but is this also considered being friendly or could it be considered flirting? I mean, it's not very common for a male teacher to ask a younger, female student to do something together just the two of them outside of school, is it?
But I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into it and he just really wanted to go play tennis with someone lol.

P. s. He asked because he found out I play tennis, and he also enjoys this sport.

Could be that he's just waiting until you finish school to make a move so he doesn't get into any kind of trouble. But like I said, I'd need more details to give my true opinion.

uhm i don’t really know what else to add
He is a very sensible, caring and friendly teacher and, apart of asking me to go play tennis with him, I don’t think he treats me much differently from other students (although I’m quite sure he at least likes me as a person/as a student)
He is sometimes a bit intrusive and invades personal space (even the physical one; like for example he once grabbed my arm and pulled me closer to him)

Yes, he is definitely flirting and he was smart to wait till the end of the year. And you are correct, its not common.
