What do you think of this situation I work with a guy and he mentioned he has a girlfriend?

I met this guy at work and the only reason why I started to talk to him is bc we work together and have same lunch, I didn’t know he had a girlfriend so I was a bit flirty with him but turns out he does bc he mentioned a lot about his girlfriend. I don’t understand if his taken why would he bother to laugh and talk with me and even always sit at lunch. Like we basically do everything together even walk out to the car. I mean it doesn’t bother me as much bc I’m single but knowing he has a girlfriend kinda feels strange. What would u do?

Sounds to me like he's just trying to make a friend of a co-worker. It doesn't matter whether they're a guy or girl, have co-workers you enjoy working with is such a blessing. My advice, don't overthink it. With us guys, its usually the stupidly simple things that are the most truthful. Like I said, he's likely just being friendly.

Well then it sounds like you two get along pretty well. To clarify, take his mentioning of his girlfriend as a courtesy kinda thing. He's just letting you know where he is while likely also making casual conversation. Again, don't sweat it. Take it all at face value.

Should you break of the friendship with him? I don't think so. If its uncomfortable for you I wouldn't encourage you to keep it up, but I don't see the sense in losing out on a good thing over some awkward feelings. Like I said, try not to overthink it, and do try to take it all at face value. Enjoy it, who knows what you'll learn.

If you enjoy the free time you spend together at work, and you don't feel like he's pressuring you for anything then I'd say it sounds like you've made a good work friend and that's all.

honestly, if i felt uncomfortable, id ask him questions about his girlfriend. just light ones, like how long have they been together? what do she do? being flirty isn't a bad thing, but he shouldn't be doing it back if he has a girlfriend. maybe he's just being friendly?

i wouldn't say u have to ignore him, being friendly is different. just cause he has a girlfriend doesn't mean you can't be just friends
